Strengths: Well made, easy connections, high quality drivers, bass you can actually feel, metal grill to protect against accidental punctures.
Weaknesses: Need to keep a few inches of distance from wall because port is in the back. This means it cannot be mounted on the wall.
Summary: I bought four of these speakers to act as mains and surround for my home theater system. Along with a subwoofer and center channel speaker the system as a whole is very impressive sounding, capable of recreating reference volumes. Even running without a subwoofer the speakers can reproduce very satisfying levels of bass. I can feel the kick in my stomach as it plays music and movies. As a bookshelf speaker it outperforms other similarly sized speakers. One drawback is that this speaker can not be butted against the wall due to the port in the back... something to consider when setting up the system. This speaker by the way, can play loud and clean, and can take abnormal amounts of power without fear of blowing it. I can't say the same of other speakers.

Strengths: Excellent performance and decent price
Weaknesses: Rear-ported (cannot be butted against a wall for wall-mounting)
Summary: I'm using two Beta 20's for side channels in a 5.1 setup with two Beta 50's for fronts, a Beta C360 as my center, an SVS PB10-NSD subwoofer and an Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver. I think it's a great midrange setup!

.

The Beta 20's are excellent bookshelf speakers! My setup is primarily for watching movies, but I sometimes also listen to music (many different genres) as well and in either case the Beta 20's perform spectacularly. I am happy going with the 20's over the 10's - the cost wasn't that much greater and I think the performance is worth it.

.

As another reviewer mentioned these are rear-ported so trying to mount them directly to the wall will not work. If you keep them a few inches away, you should be good to go. I've got mine on speaker stands so it's not such a big deal for me.

.

If you are able to find these at a reasonable price, I highly recommend picking them up as these are no longer being manufactured and once they start going out of stock the prices will go up (not to mention be harder to find)! At this point, the Infinity Beta lineup is still one of the best choices you can make at the current price range for an excellent home theater setup, and the Beta 20's are a necessary part of that setup.

Strengths: dynamic range, sound clarity, build quality
Weaknesses: couldn't ask for much more in a bookshelf speaker this size (and price range)
Summary: I replaced the front channel Infinity Primus 150 speakers in my home theatre with a pair of BETA 20s and the improvement in bass and sound presence was immediately evident. While I really like the 150s (using them elsewhere now), the BETA 20s are a better match for the Infinity the PS-12, 12" 300W powered subwoofer I’m using in both frequency range (improved crossover) and sound dynamics. The sound is so clean (no discernable distortion yet) and powerful at higher volume levels that you will wonder why they are referred to as “bookshelf” speakers, instead of just loudspeakers.
