Strengths: Great set of features (including in particular Ethernet network interface and built-in print-server) at a very affordable price.
Weaknesses: No external paper feed. Color print appears a bit dull. Software installation choice somewhat confusing.
Summary: I bought this printer (to replace my previous all-in-one printer Canon MP390 whose print-head drive solenoid disappointingly went dead after less than 2.5 years of service!!!) at less than $110 after instant rebate. It has all essential features one can possibly want from a printer under $150. I found its Ethernet interface and built-in print-server function especially useful as it allows me to print directly to the printer from any PC in my household. Instructions on how to configure the network interface and the print-server is not included in the enclosed quick setup guide nor user manual but can be downloaded from Brother's web-site, although the default configuration setting would suffice in most situations.
Color print seems to be not as vibrant as that of my Canon printers but that is probably because Brother printers are generally targeted at office applications rather than graphic or photographic applications. I also wish that the printer has an external feed, especially for photo paper and envelope.

Strengths: All functions you needed are here, FAX, Color/Black Copier without PC, Printer , BEST of all it is network ready.
Weaknesses: Photo paper loading is very inconvienant. Photo quality is not as good as a real photo printer.
Summary: In summary:
It is very versatile with all function in one. However it sacrifice the photo printer quality. As a home office printer , it could not beated at this price range. But if you need a VERY good photo printer, it is NOT as professional as a real photo printer. Original ink come with printer run VERY quick. Will seek high capacity ink if I could find.

Strengths: perfect All-in-One printer. Price are good too
Weaknesses: not very good on photo
Summary: I really need an all-in-one for my small home-office. This one do job well, in very good price. Ink are cheap too. In general, it is good for home or small business, but not very good for photo and fast printing

Strengths: Scans are good, copies are covienient.
Weaknesses: Slow usb connection causes high speed usb hub to slow down, along with all other attached usb devices. odd placement of usb cable port.
Summary: I bought this multifunction device because I wanted a convenient copier and a new(er) scanner. I am very happy with the copies, as I can create both black/white copies as well as color copies. If you look at the picture, the smoke colored plastic top swivels up and out, exposing a multi-paper feed slot for the scanner. If you have ever had to scan a bunch of documents with a flat-bed scanner, you know the pain of opening the cover, setting the page on the glass, closing the cover, pressing the scan button (and repeating those steps). What I haven't tried: I haven't tried to use it as a fax machine. I haven't tried doing photo-prints with the printer. I haven't compared photo-scans against my older flat-bed scanner. Still, I am happy with the functionality that I have used so far.

Strengths: This printer does all. Perfect. Wire/wireless networking is a plus.
Weaknesses: Dull color copy/printing
Summary: I bought this to replace my HP Deskjet F380 all-in-one, but the HP I own had no network interface, and fax feature. For several computers at home, I was really tired to change the printer usb connection all the time, so I bought this one for very good price, I have used for 20 days, and I absolutely love it, it was easy to install and networking, and printing quality was great.
I haven’t used the fax feature yet, but I did a little research about this, you can send fax and received fax out or into your PC, and even internet fax.

Strengths: All-in-One unit, networkable
Weaknesses: Not great on photo printing
Summary: Easy to setup and use. Networking portion is fantastic. Print quality is good overall. Only lacking in photo printing department, but that's not this printer's main purposes. It's a small office work horse.

Strengths: All-in-one coupled with an ADF makes this a handy little gadget. Has multiple color toner vials so you only replace what color has depleted its reservoir.
Weaknesses: For word processing documents, I like the laser printer better, but as cheap as they are nowadays that is not a big deal.

Strengths: Reliable operation after easy set-up. Feature-wise, I like the approx. 30-page ADF and the flat-bed scanner.
Weaknesses: Slow print speed.
Summary: I bought this printer after having good luck with another Brother printer. I got essentially the same features in the MFC 5460CN as in my previous MFC 3360C, but the flat-bed scanner of the 5460 allowed me to get rid of my stand-alone scanner and free-up some desk space. However, I do miss the handset of the 3360; a minor inconvenience.
The paper tray is a little cumbersome but paper feed is reliable.

price was right
Strengths: worked ok,
Weaknesses: not vista compatable without jumping thru hoops..manual needs work.
Summary: The fact that I am far from PC pro,and new to Vista OS,I needed help getting printer working after downloading 69Mb program [3times]from Brothers. I feel it was a convoluted process that should be easier, not sure if it is a vista os or Brothers problem, not my problem

All Around Decent Printer
Strengths: Does everything. Color. Black and White. Copies. Photos.
Weaknesses: Expensive ink. Somewhat wasteful ink management.
Summary: I bought this for my parents to be their basic b/w, some color, and copy printer. I would say that their usage is average, but the inks run around pretty fast. I've also seen better photo quality prints on other printers, but that's not what I bought it for anyways. I don't use the fax or connectivity features, but it's nice to have that option. At this point, it's still not a large investment if we decide to go with something else.

Strengths: Great features for home office
Weaknesses: Waste ink by cleaning every power-up
Summary: The unit has all functions required for a home office, and does the work properly. The only thing I do not like is that the machine cleans everytime it starts. It is a total waste of ink. Other than that, it is one of the best AIOs in this price range.

Strengths: Excellent price for a network-capable AIO, decent scanning
Weaknesses: Really not for photo printing, expensive ink, sizeable footprint, needs to be near a phone jack for faxing
Summary: We have become a three PC household---laptop in the kitchen, kids' PC in their bedroom, and my office PC. After struggling with a glitchy print server for a year or two, I have slowly gravitated to network capable printer, given our need to print from all three locations. I don't' fax very often, but there have been occasions when I wish I could fax from any of these machines as well. Now I can. The setup was quick and easy on this Brother, and printing ordinary documents from any PC has worked flawlessly. Don't expect glossy photo quality from this machine. For school projects, it's fine. But ink is costly, as seems to be the rule with most printers nowadays.
