Strengths: Handsome corded office phone w/easy speakerphone and crystal clear digital answerer. Handset also clear sound and has most base features.
Weaknesses: not 5.8 mhz
Summary: This is the most I have ever spent on a phone, but it is well worth it. Everything looks and sounds great! The digital answerer is cystal clear!

Strengths: Great Feature set. Great Sound quality. Good range on handsets.
Weaknesses: You have to wade through a few too many menus to do simple tasks
Summary: I had a Panasonic small office system before this phone. I had problems with the Panasonic so I took it back and got a new one. The new one did not work either but I just put up with it for 2 years. This AT&T phone does more than the Panasonic and it costs less. So far it has worked perfectly. I would buy this phone again any time.

If you want a full featured expandable phone system look no further.

2 Star ReviewFinding a 2-line phone with the ability of having ...
Strengths: 2 line capability, portable handset good.
Weaknesses: Telephone on base unit is marginal in quality.
Summary: Finding a 2-line phone with the ability of having a different outgoing message for each line was a real problem. I previously purchased the Uniden TRU 8866 (I gave it 5 stars elsewhere on pricegrabber.com) for different reasons, but after I purchased the Uniden TRU 8866, my wife spilled red wine on our 10-year old AT&T phone that had a 2-line answering machine. The wine killed the phone! It is too bad that my Uniden TRU 8866 doesn't have an answering machine as I would not have purchased this phone from AT&T.

As previously noted, finding a 2-line phone with a separate greeting for both lines was a problem! However, after awhile, I changed my focus to finding such a machine and decided quality had to be secondary (not my usual style, but I didn't have much of a choice). I was ambivalent about having a separate portable handset as my Uniden serves that purpose. There are several machines out there with multi-line capability but they usually require the same outgoing announcement for each line. In my house, I have a small business and want a separate greeting for those calls and a different greeting for our personal calls. I couldn't believe how hard this was to find.

In any event, this AT&T phone has an excellent portable handset with good features including the ability to listen to messages received, but the answering machine is marginal including occasionally cutting people off when leaving a message and people tell me when using the base-wired phone, it sounds "tinny" to the caller. However, because it has the features I need, I guess I am keeping the phone, poor voice quality and all. I need to remember that when using the wired phone on the base, whomever I am talking with may complain about the voice quality and suggest I use a different phone!

The moral of the story? Don't have wine near a working telephone as 10 year-old technology may be better than a telephone manufactured in 2005!

Strengths: Dual line;dual messaging. Great range and clarity on handset. Very easy to set up and begin using.
Weaknesses: None we've found so far!
Summary: Sleek slim styling on both base and handset fits easily in our already crowded desk space. Finding a phone with dual messaging was a huge plus. Different rings for each of the two lines make it even better. So far everything has been very easy to set up and use immediately. The calls are identified clearly, messages are easy to find and keep. We have one line for home use and the other for our photography business; the intercom between the handset and base makes communication between office and house so easy. We have already highly recommended this phone to friends for the overall ease of use...and it looks good too!
