Summary: I used a loaner unit from Kodak while I was a product demonstrator at a local retail store. Skeptical at first, I fell in love with the Printer Dock (PD for short), and will be buying one for myself after Xmas.
I've printed literally hundreds of pictures that I've taken both at the store and at home. The pictures look like I had them developed and printed, professional quality.
I've also printed pictures taken with another manufacturer's camera using the PD, and the results are also amazing.
We took a Kodak camera and the printer dock to my mother's house for thanksgiving dinner. Set up the PD, took pictures, and was able to hand them to people before they left for the night!
PLUSSES
Prints are professional quality.
The prints dry immediately, are waterproof (don't smear when get wet), and very durable.
You don't need a computer to print (if you're using a Kodak 6000, 7000, or 700 model camera; you do if you have another brand camera, unless it supports PictBridge).
Convenient size. No liquids to spill or get on your fingers.
Press a button and you can print 1, 2, 4, or 9 pictures on a 4x6 print.
MINUSSES
At 90 seconds/print, it takes some time to print a lot of pictures.
You have to use the Kodak print kits, at about 60 cents per print it gets expensive quickly.
Prints only 4x6 prints (but can print multiple pix on a page).
NOTES
Can do special effects if you have the EasyShare software, like my favorite "cartoon mode" which changes a picture to be outlines only.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Excellent printer, high quality prints, but at a cost.
