Strengths: Easy Install, Good Quality

Summary: I received my AVS5811 from B & H Photo right on time. I had previously ordered a 2.4ghz unit and had interference from cordless phone and blocked my wi-fi network. I must have spent 3 hours trying to get it to work good. Finally gave up. Then found the AVS5811 at Price Grabber and ordered it from B & H. I removed it from the box and plugged it into the cable box, put the receiver in my bedroom, hooked up the remote IR extender and turned it all on. Immediately there was a clear picture and good sound on my remote TV in the bedroom. Not one line on the screen and crisp clear sound.
The remote IR worked well too once I got it positioned on the cable box where it worked best. My next test was to bring my laptop into the room with the Wi-Fi. This was the acid test and it works just fine. In fact using it now about 10 feet from the transmitter of the AVS5811 and all is well.
This is a great solution to get all the digital cable channels in another room legally without another cable box. There is no downside that I can see at this point. Considering getting other receivers for other rooms now so I can watch the premium channels on other TV's too.

Strengths: Provides strong audio/video signal, easy to setup
Weaknesses: Instruction manual could be better, still haven't figured out the infrared remote control.
Summary: I bought this product for my wife for Christmas, along with a kitchen TV that we didn't feel like installing a separate satellite box for in such a small space.
The package came with a transmitter and a composite video/audio cable, which I plugged into the back of my satellite box that would be transmitting the signal.
It also came with a receiver and another composite video/audio cable, which I plugged directly into the back of the new kitchen TV. I turned both transmitter and receiver on and I was ready to go! I started getting good picture and sound immediately.
This is definitely a great solution for us, since we don't have enough space in the kitchen to put another satellite box and we didn't want to run wires from the existing satellite box in the next room all the way to the kitchen. It has worked well so far, being 5.8Ghz, with people on the 2.4Ghz portable phone in the same room and with the microwave running.
The few complaints I have are minor.
First, the picture will fuzz out or even black out for a second if someone walks in between the transmitter and receiver. Since it's just used to watch TV programs while cooking or cleaning up, it's not a big deal.
Second, the instruction manual is not very clear. It seems like it was either written in another language and loosely translated into English, or it was written in a hurry, leaving out certain details. One thing I can't figure out is how to operate the infrared remote sensor so that we can control the transmitter's satellite box from the kitchen where the receiver is. We have an open floor plan, however, so we are pointing the satellite box's remote control at the satellite box two rooms away to change the channel, but the remote sensor is supposed to let you point your remote directly at the wireless receiver and send your remote command to the transmitting device. This would be a major problem if the transmitter and receiver were both in different rooms separated by a wall. We would have to walk to the original satellite box to change the channel in the kitchen. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
I'm surprised that a device like this exists, able to transmit both video and audio so clearly on the fly. My wife is happy with it because it does what she wants and doesn't leave wires all over the house.

Strengths: Within 10 minutes out of the box, I had great remote reception and control of my satellite receiver.
Weaknesses: Only noticable interference noticed so far is when someone walks in the path between the transmitter and receiver.
Summary: I've tried 2.4 Ghz products like this without much success and thought that the favorable reviews that I saw on this product might have been written by the manufacturer or distributors of the product. But I am completely satisfied with the picture, sound quality and remote controlability that it provides.

 5.8ghz SR WIRELESS TRANS/RCVR Strengths: Product works very well, no interference from other electronic devices.
Weaknesses: Poor remote extender range.
Summary: The reception of the A/V is excelent. There is no interference in the audio or video. I had a 2.4Ghz unit which had audio interference when the microwave oven was on. I replaced it with this unit and all is interference free. If they improve remote extender range, then I would rate it excellent.

Strengths: Takes 5 minutes to set-up, great reception, no interference.
Weaknesses: Lack of S-video or component connections.
Summary: I bought this item just couple days ago for just under $100. I was very sceptical about my purchase until I hooked it up to my satellite box downstairs and a bedroom tv set upstairs. Picture and sound reception is amazingly great. It does not take much of directional alignment between receiver and transmitter to get reception. As long as the units (antennas) are generally pointed towards each other, reception is there and once again...it is great. I did not notice much of overheating of the unit as someone mentioned earlier. I have it on all the time and it barely gets warm. This item is really worth purchasing if you don't want to mess with additional cables or cable/satellite boxes to get reception on additional tv units. I highly recommend it!!!

Strengths: clear 5.8Ghz signal, remote signal sender, video/audio cables included
Weaknesses: a bit pricey. composite video only (no s-video or component)
Summary: i have tried 2.4Ghz senders before, with completely unacceptable signal interference due to the crowded bandwidth. These 5.8Ghz units however have worked great since i got them. I have had clear, strong signal at the reception end, which is one floor above, on the opposite side of the house, through the floor and several walls. Considering all the obstacles, i was very pleased to get such a clear signal. Unit comes with audio/video cables (composite only). It would be nice if the unit had s-video capability. The remote signal sender is a nice feature, so you can use the remote for the device you are transmitting from. The only issue is that you have to place the transmitter unit in front of your video source, or use the wired LED emitter. In the first case that might not be possible due to placement issues and cable locations. In the second case, the wired emitter can be an eye-sore dangling around. Nevertheless, it is a nice additional feature.
Granted this 5.8Ghz unit is about twice the price of a 2.4Ghz, but it is well worth the money..what use is it to pay half, but have a poor, unwatchable signal? "You get what you pay for" is a good phrase to remember, and you certainly will get good performance out of this unit.

Strengths: Clear signal, both video and audio whereas the 2.4Ghz always had static!
Weaknesses: Cost is about twice the 2.4Ghz.
Summary: Installation is easy using RCA cables. However, the picture on my old receiving set would roll intermittently. I changed inputs but nothing helped. I have an RF CONVERTER (which Walmart sells for less than $30) that I plugged the RCA cables into and used coaxial out to my tv and the problem is fixed.
I saw a question where someone asked if they could use the wireless with coaxial and this is how.

Strengths: The units were priced.
Weaknesses: The instructions were not good at all
Summary: I installed the wireless for a kitchen TV. Most of my time was spent trying th understand why it did not work. Just by accident I found out that on the receiver TV it works on the audio/visual, not the CATV or the TV. RF link would do justice to their product if they had someone to write instructions for people who are electronically challenged (like me).

 Setup is easy. The interference is less than thos ... Strengths: Setup is easy. Reception is better than 2.4GHz product.
Weaknesses: Expensive, weak reception, intereference, hard to get a perfect spot
Summary: Setup is easy. The interference is less than those 2.4GHz product that I returned before. The sound quality is good but the picture is still not 100% perfect and have some distortion. Hard to adjust the antenna to get a perfect spot. Price is much more than those 2.4GHz product.

You get what you pay for!
Strengths: Good picture quality one level (in home) removed from transmitter.
Weaknesses: Package inserts don't specify which types of cable boxes are compatible for set-up. Had to buy expensive conversion cables. No directions for infrared remote. Still can't get it to work.
Summary: Generally would not purchase this type of item from the NET again. You get what you pay for..in this case, total lack of documentation and support service. Once fooled, shame on you....

Summary: Good product. Is a little pricey, but worth the cost. Worked fine right out of the box and set-up took literally five minutes. Only drawback is that it took some time to get the IR remote control to work. The transmitter and receiver had to be placed just in the right place for it to work. I believe its because the IR remote control works in the 2.4 gHz range and so has interference from cordless phones and wireless network.

Strengths: xcellent pic quality. no interference from 2.4 ghx devices
Weaknesses: ir repeater does not always function even with it right at the front of cable box.
Summary: get this item. I bought two of these units at the same time and very pleased so far.do a search for the best price online. happy viewing your movies.

Strengths: clear signal, good audio
Weaknesses: a little bulky, IR mouse didn't work with my Dish stb, and instructions for this were not good. Don't expect HD quality.
Summary: Operates on 5.8ghz which is better than the rca 2.4ghz model I used before. Mine are located about 40 feet from each other, separated by a floor, and the 2.4ghz rca was not performing well at all w/ my cordless phone, wireless internet, etc. The rflink 5.4ghz model works great. The signal looks almost as good as coming right out of the Dish stb.

Strengths: Easy to set up. No interference from other devices
Weaknesses: Picture will flicker if you walk in front of the TV or the transmitter.
Summary: This is great! I would have had to pay the cable company to come out and run a cable to my room over the garage. Now I can move the tv anywhere and not have to be next to a cable outlet.
I found out it works better if you put the transmitter unit up as high as possible. I had it set up at about eye level and the remote sender (channel changer) wouldn't work. I moved the transmitter to the top of the stero unit and it works fine.

Strengths: Excellent picture and sound. Remote works well and setup was a breeze.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: This equipmet was used to connect the cable box to a remote location with no TV outlet. First time out of the box it worked and the picture is as good as direct feed from the cable. the remote is easy to set up and functions perfectly.
