Strengths: cheap, decent image, as far as i can tell
Weaknesses: lacks in adjustability, menus a bit awkward to navigate, doesn't include dvi cable, got a stuck pixel on mine, 1yr warranty.
Summary: This monitor was almost the cheapest among all 20" LCDs while offering better specs than most (e.g. 1000:1 contrast).
The default settings were messed up, but spending 30min in adjustments yielded pretty decent results. I couldn't get all color gradients I was trying to resolve and I suspect perfect image may be impossible with this monitor, but for the price I must say it's quite impressive. (May be I just don't know what's the current status of the technology since I'm upgrading from a 6yr old LCD, which nevertheless was on the high end at the time).
Unfortunately the menu navigation is a bit cumbersome - mostly due to the lack of dedicated EXIT button.
Another annoyance is that it doesn't include a DVI cable. It makes huge difference if your videocard has a dvi output. These cables can be purchased for as little as $7 but the average cost is about $25.
Finally my monitor has one stuck green pixel, but it's obvious only if you look at very dark image. The warranty is only 1yr (considering that most name brands come with 3yr). Personally I think it is unlikely for problems to start developing right after the warranty expires, and at that point the monitor's value would probably be greatly reduced anyway.
Overall I'm happy with the monitor, esp considering the price tag.

Strengths: Excellent picture, no dead pixels, excellent price. Great for gaming and apps!
Weaknesses: None
Summary: This is my first LCD monitor and I am very impressed. Excellent picture, good price, and Love the widescreen. The stand is fine and the speakers are typical monitor speakers. Overall a great monitor for the price.

Strengths: Very bright and sharp video, least expensive 20" LCD out there
Weaknesses: Uneven brightness
Summary: 2006-12-29 13:05:06 I am impressed with this monitor even though it is not perfect. The default luminescence setting was too bright. I lowered it from 85 to 35, and it's still plenty bright. I also decreased the contrast from 50 to 40. I use the D-sub port and the image is very very good, better than my old 20" CRT monitor. I have not tried the DVI port, but people report it is better than D-sub. Even though this monitor uses a 6-bit panel, 24-bit photos appear very vibrant with no noticeable sign of dithering. The blue-lit Sceptre sign is distracting but not too big a nuisance. The stand seems sturdy enough to me even though others have complained that it is flimsy. One annoying problem is the uneven brightness across the screen: top left is dimmest and the bottom right is the brightest. There seems to be no way of fixing this problem. I found one dead/stuck pixel in the bottom right of the screen where it's not too noticeable. Overall, a good cheap monitor.

Strengths: Very bright, great sharpness, no dead pics.
Weaknesses: 1. flimsy stand, but no big deal.
2. install cd is worthless but anyone who knows how to install monitor drivers will have no probs.
Summary: Love the widescreen. as a computer tech i use and see many monitors; this is by far the best bang for the buck!! great replacement for even the pickiest users. You WILL NOT be disappointed. Stop looking and buy one.

Strengths: Size and Resolution, as well as the blue (glowing) logo.
Weaknesses: Installation a tidy little hassle. But works very nicely once driver installed properly.
Summary: Their driver installation directions are plainly dumb if you have XP, I had to do what it told me not to to get the driver to install because their directions don't come WIN Xp friendly. Everything else was fine. Definitely a 5 out of 5 for this LCD, best monitor ever!

Strengths: Excellent picture, no dead pixels, cool Sceptre logo on the front. Great for gaming and apps!
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: I've been wanting to replace my 19" Viewsonic CRT monitor for a while now. After searching and searching for LCDs, I came across the Sceptre brand. With a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms response, you just can't beat it! And it's even widescreen!!

Strengths: HUGH monitor!! I can't belive the amount of screen space I have gained from this monitor. Running 1680 x 1050 with no problems. No dead pixels.
Weaknesses: None that I can tell
Summary: The blue light Sceptre light is not that bad. I have not tried the speakers though. Would be nice if the cables could run down the stand, instead of off to the side.

Strengths: Good color rendition
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: This is a very good standard monitor. The colors are good and text is pretty sharp. For the low price, it's a great choice for anyone without any non-standard needs from a monitor. Go for it.

Strengths: Cheap, widescreen
Weaknesses: Glowing "SCEPTRE" light, low brightness.
Summary: This is a great monitor for the price. With a native resolution of 1680x1050, DVI and D-Sub connections, and speakers, its loaded with features at not a large price tag. I would recommend this monitor to anyone wanting a wide aspect ratio LCD without putting a huge dent in their budget.

Strengths: High Definition view, sharp picture in DVI, very bright, good for multitasking.
Weaknesses: Maybe too bright. VGA quality is not as good as DVI. Flimsy stand. When you turn off monitor in DVI in windows, it loses its signal. DVI cable not included.
Summary: Overall a very good monitor for its price. No ghosting in games, and has a lot of real estate. However, after using it for a couple weeks, I am still getting used to its size. I recommend it.
