Strengths: Excellent picture, easy setup and use. With rabbit ears, I get >20 digital channels over the air. Cable and satellite offer fewer. I'm getting a rooftop antenna this week.
Weaknesses: None that I know of
Summary: I am impressed with this TVs reception of digital signals OTA. It is much better than analog TV reception in my area.

This TV is one of the few 37" HDTVs that fit into my 36.4" wide cabinet.

Strengths: HD picture quality is great, easy to setup, smart-stretch works very well for SD 4:3 material, gloss black bezel and silver trim very nice.
Weaknesses: No way to adjust the screen size for HD signals, sound could be better (but that's what my Onkyo receiver is for).
Summary: I looked at many other brands of 37 to 40 inch LCD HDTVs (did not want to go plasma as I did not want to worry about burn-in when using my PC and gaming on it). In the end I chose the Sharp due to its black-level and the smart-stretch scaling for SD 4:3 programming as well as the price (did not feel that 1080p was worth the added cost for a TV this size). I also like the OPC that adjusts the backlight since the lighting in my living room changes quite a bit from day to night and this way I don't have to constantly adjust the set myself.

Strengths: Good picture Easy to Setup
Weaknesses: No DVI
Summary: This is a good TV for the price giving you a 37" LCD TV. The ATSC, NTSC and Clear QAM tuner lets you get any digital signal that is unencrypted from your cable provided..

Strengths: Ridiculously SLIM (like 4 inches all around), sharp design. All of the inputs make is easy to connect multiple consoles, cable/sat, and dvd. Great picture out of the box!
Weaknesses: None that I have found yet.
Summary: I haven't tried anything HD yet, but SD cable looks wicked. TV works great with my cheapie surround system because all the video can go straight to the TV, and the TV audio out to the receiver. Wii at 480p looks brilliant. Reflections don't pierce the picture like all my old TV's. I can't wait til the playoffs, DA BEARS!!

Strengths: Nice cabinet, HD Picture quality, plenty of inputs, Bright
Weaknesses: SD Picture quality, Annoying auto black level adjustment
Summary: 2007-03-19 13:10:48 I researched LCD's for a few months before ordering this one. Unfortunately, no local store carries it, so I could not do a side by side comparison before I purchased. I will start by saying this is my first LCD TV, however I also own a 65" rear projection CRT and a 42" Hitachi plasma. Compared to the other displays, the picture is more pixilated on SD broadcasts, and I am still trying to get the black level right. It's not the blacks are not black enough, but I seem to lose detail in the dark areas of a movie (they are almost too black). I have also tried to adjust multiple settings to turn off the auto black level adjustment that turns down the backlight automatically when the picture being displayed is mostly black, but have been unsuccessful. Images darken then slowly brighten as scenes change. This is very annoying. Overall a decent TV for the price, but I'm not sure if I'm just expecting too much from an LCD vs a plasma.

3 Star Reviewgood tv
Strengths: HD picture is awesome, great looking cabinet, thin
Weaknesses: anolog picture is so so,picture seems alittle fuzzy even after manually adjusting the picture.... digital is good... in smart stretch mode, news update scrolling at the bottom appears distorted, try it
Summary: i have two earlier Sharp LCD televisions with a seperate tuner control box,and the picture on them are much better than the newer model, and the newer one has less adjustments to customize your picture.. the older ones cost double , but i feel Sharp is cutting corners to reduce their television prices. I returned the first television, but the second one gave the same quality picture, it just does not seem as 'SHARP' as the others
