I had plenty of music on my PC so I didn't want to download any music and repay for what I already had. After receiving the kit I was able to install the software, hook the phone to the PC, and start uploading songs without any problem. My wife has an Apple computer and I would've liked to install it so she can move data and music (she doesn't like to do anything on my PC) but it's easy enough for me to do it for her. 100% of People (2/2) found this review helpful. Summary: This must be an older version of the sync software. Had much difficulty installing and getting it to work. Had to install a large number of updates to files and then it took several hours to get it to function. Still having trouble with getting music file from my computer onto the music program and when you do get a file in is not saved. Strengths: - inexpensive, comes with a mini CD of applications Weaknesses: - doesn't support various shareware phone stuff Summary: If you're buying this cable to sync its calendar with the one on your PC, etc. ok. But if you are getting this cable to use with shareware, forget it. The shareware stuff requires a particular serial cable. Now, most PC knowledgeable people will tell you that the USB is usually supported the same as a serial cable. This is often true, but not in this case. The shareware relies on the serial cable only.
