    Product Experience:

Strengths: user friendly, large stove top. oven bakes even.
Weaknesses: Probe, and timer is to quite.
Summary: I have had this range for about 5 mos.

I have had a few new stoves, and I have to addmit I'm picky, but this one seems to be working out ok, although I have had sears out a few times for this range!

I do know my stoves, and what is good and bad about them!

What I like about this stove is the way the top burners are designed.

The burners are spread out so you can get large pans, and pots on the top at the same time, and there not touching, and the handles are not getting hot from being to close to other burners. I have the 5 burner range.

On one of the new Stainless bosch's I had, the burners where so close to the middle , I had a hard time using a large pan and a small pan at the same time. Btw that stove was awful! I bought the Bosch 1 1/2 yrs ago. Also on the bosch all the burners did not work even! When Bosch send there trouble shooter to my home, He even said this stove is unexceptable !

The problem I have had with this stove top is, the large burner on the right side, put out more flame on one side then the other, so you could not saute even. I have Calphalon commercial cookware, and it took some time for the cookware to heat up even.

Sears put a new burner in, still didn't change anything. they came out at least 3 more times, and kept telling me there was nothing they could do. I do not give up easly! I called GE. Sears finally came out last week, and put in all new tubeing for the right front burner, and now it works 90% better. I can deal with that, and it works better then the other ranges I had.

When I bake with the oven it turns out perfect. When a cake says its 45 mins, it done in that time, and I never have to turn the cake pan around to bake even. I have not used the convection oven to bake with.

I have had trouble with the Probe, which I expect it to work perfect. Being that when you use the probe, and set your temp, the stoves turns off when it shows the probe has reached the temp.

Well It has never worked right, and I have made two Turkeys that came out with the dark meat undercook, the same thing had happened with a prime rib,and roast. Sears finally send me out a new probe, after I called Ge. but that also was wrong. Finally Sears just put in a new brain, I roasted a chicken with the probe two days ago, and it still showing the chicken was done when it was not!But I think if I program the temp higher it would be fine, or I have to mess with it a bit more...Cook books say one thing for the temps, and Ge says another, which I do not understand why!

The bottom oven is a warmer, and oven up to 450 degrees.

It takes about 1/2 hour to heat it up high , but it holds allot more then it says, and is great to have. I love it.

The bottem oven is electric. I can get the turkey in the big oven, and stuffing, yams etc. in the bottom using larger pans, then what it says in the measurments.

I did notice on other 30 inch freestanding ranges, that the smaller oven is at the top, and smaller..Its awful like that, as that is not the oven you use the most, and then you have your main oven just about on the floor.

I also noticed with some other ranges that the knobs are on the top side, that leaves you little stove top space.

The Electronics are very user friendly, easy to use, and finger prints do not show up when you touch them, like the bosch.

Some people have complained about the timer not being loud, which is true, but I just bought a timer and put it on the side of my frig. I dont like to hang anything on my frig, but this works out good for me.

Considering all the other stoves I have had (7), and the repairs on this stove to get it right, I would buy this one again.

This is a good looking stainless and black range, with 3 black heavy grades on the top (middle oval burner comes with a griddle also), and 3 racks in the oven, also a flat rack for the bottom oven.

I gave this 4 stars for the problems I have had,but like I said, its still better then the other stoves, and could be fixed.
