Strengths: Great sound quality with and without speaker; easy to use, with talk and speaker buttons conveniently located and sized.
Weaknesses: None identified.
Summary: I love this phone! My family desperately needed a cordless speakerphone, and this one is wonderful. Most importantly, the sound is crisp and clear on both ends with no interference. I really like the look and feel of the phone as well. The blue backlight is very pleasing to the eye and a really nice feature at night. Also, the phone stands upright even when not in the base, which is a definite plus for a speakerphone. One of the reviews I read for this phone stated that you have to place this phone in its base to hang up. This is not true! Pushing the TALK button toggles the phone on and off. This is truly a great phone, and after heavy use for the past month by all five members of my family, we are extremely satisfied with it.

 GE 6.0 Cordless Phone Strengths: Sounds good, good range, looks GREAT
Weaknesses: Feels a bit light, blue light is possesed
Summary: Hooking up the phone was incredibly easy. Phone is comfortable to use, but feels a little bit light in the hand (pro for some, con for others). Sound quality is pretty good, as well as the range on the phone. And the phone looks really good as well. The only problem I have with the phone is the blue backlight is possessed!! Both phones too. Out of nowhere, the light turns itself on for about 10-15 seconds, and turns off. This wouldn't be so bad except we kept one of them in the bedroom. I looked up reviews of this phone elsewhere, and it doesn't seem like an isolated incident. Very good phone otherwise.

Strengths: Static free and range is great
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: If you are looking for a phone -- look no further. I have looked at phones for awhile and this one is the very best. Not sure why there aren't numerous great rankings. I'm going to add 2 more phone basis to the initial set. A+++++++++++++++

 Not for use outdoors Strengths: interferance free
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: does not have an off button, one needs to hit the talk button and put it back on the cradle for it to hang up. How do you use it outside?

Strengths: Lightweight, bright silver color, comfortable shape, great reception, neat blue backlight, one big round button push to talk/end call looks like a Bentley (car) dashboard!
Weaknesses: The numbers are not backlit; only outined in light. The base is not great looking (sides are gray plastic) if you are really picky about the decor, but the phone makes up for it.
Summary: I really think this phone is one of the nicest for the price. After looking at several in this price range from different manufacturers, the combo of reception, blue backlight (others are orange or yellow), bright silver color and the neat one button talk/end call operation sold me. Plus you can use them as an intercom for each room, and even name each phone. I love them.

Do not purchase this model GE phone
Strengths: visually well designed
Weaknesses: does not work; after dialing a number you do not hear the phone ring and when the person you called answers you can not hear them. Also causes existing corded and cordless phones to work this way.
Summary: Our existing corded and cordless phones worked well, they were old and it was time for a change and an upgrade. Purchased the phone because of the GE nameplate. Before calling Thompson, GE's marketing company, I called Vonage our telephone internet service provider, to see if it was on their end. They performed diagnostic tests and did not find anything wrong on their end. When I called Thompson they were not able to troubleshoot the problem, said they never had a problem like the one I described, just return for exchange and that would take 4-6 weeks. No way I want an exchange after reading numerous negative reviews on this phone. I purchased the phone from HPP, they do not take phone calls only emails to authorize returns, I am now waiting for their response for a return and full refund. I do not recommend purchasing this model cordless phone. The purchase transaction and delivery of the phone from HPP was excellent. They are just selling a bad product.

DOES NOT WORK WITH WIRELESS INTERNET IN THE HOME
Strengths: Standard features
Weaknesses: Does not work with wireless internet in the home.
Summary: I've been troubleshooting issues with this phone almost from day one. I thought it was my VoiP provider but it was the phone. I've had calls drop numerous times. The most consistent problem is the phone doesn't ring. If you see it light up you can pick the call up but it never rings. There should have been a warrning about not working with Wireless Internet.

Strengths: size, shape, ease of use, excellent reception
Weaknesses: cannot adjust volume unless on a phone call.
Summary: I am very pleased with this purchase. The set up was a breeze. I really like the different ring tones and the fact that you can set a different ring for up to 10 different numbers.

Summary: just bought it resently and no compliants.... I 1.9GHz not 6.0 Ghz 6.0 is illegal... Since its a 1.9 Ghz which was used in europe for years...good stuff..
