2 Star ReviewPoor Ice maker
Strengths: Veggie crisper
Weaknesses: icemaker
Summary: I purchased a kitchenAid refrigerator #KSCS25INSS in the spring of 2006. I am waiting for fourth icemaker to be installed by Best Buy. The tech from Best Buy said that the thermostat in the icemaker was defective. I am trying to talk to someone from KitchenAid but no response. I would think that if a part was defective KitchenAid would contact the customer. I paid $2300 for poor quality!

1 Star ReviewThe Kitchen Aid Refrigerator Nighmare
Strengths: Looks beautiful, has convenient icemaker and dispenses filtered chilled water.
Weaknesses: The electrical components are grossly defective and aren't covered by the long-term warranty. Also, the icemaker is very noisy.
Summary: We have suffered through 2 total failures, losing over $500 worth of food each time,in less than 1 year. Each time an electrical component has failed; first, a starter relay and then the circuit board. We have paid nearly $500 for parts & labor and it still isn't working. Try living without a refrigerator for a week or so - it's a nightmare. This nightmare was brought to us by our mistake of having a top-of-the-line Kitchen Aid appliance. Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool is unresponsive and uncaring about rectifying consumer complaints. Don't make the mistake of buying this product.

Strengths: Looks sharp, very quiet running and dispenses water and ice on the door.
Weaknesses: Doors need to open a bit too wide to slide drawers out.
Summary: We have had our unit for almost 2 years without a bit of trouble. Counter depth of this unit keeps it back where it belongs and not protruding into the walk area. We will probably buy another when we move in a few years.

3 Star ReviewKitchenAid Model KSRS25FT Side by side with through-the-door ice
Strengths: Lay-out of storage space, in-the-door storage of ice
Weaknesses: Ice melts and then re-freezes in the holder. We have to dump it out every week or so.
Summary: Overall a good model. Door fits very tight - if closed too quickly actually have to wait a few seconds before it can be opened again. Would appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to correct the problem with the ice maker.
