Strengths: Amazing functions package
Great sound
Good size
Weaknesses: Limited video playback capacity
Bulky earbud headphones
Summary: I own an Archos 504, Insignia NS-DV4G and a couple of 1G Sandisk players. I just purchased the Zen V Plus. Discouraged by some complaints about Creative not claiming responsibility for the screen going out, I also purchased a 1 year replacement plan. I carried my Insignia with me all the time, great player, but fragile and a little too bulky to fit in pockets. The Zen on the other hand, I throw in my jean pocket without thinking twice, it fits just about anywhere, even hang around the neck if need be. It has great sound quality, especially if used with decent headphones. The biggest disadvantage is the length of video playback, not the quality, cause realistically for a 1.5 inch screen, I'm not expecting an HD resolution, I want to be able to pass the time when I'm at the DMV or waiting for my girlfriend to get out of work when I'm picking her up. I bought the 2G version and cannot fit a full length movie on it (A 60 minute movie requires about 3G of memory, machine does not support compressed video files) so I find myself limited to 1 hour shows and the occasional cartoon. Hope creative comes up with a new firmware to compress video. All in all the Zen V plus is a great machine, with the features it packs it's one of the best players for your money.
