Strengths: A little pricey but well worth the money in terms of performance and quality.

Weaknesses: None except a few omissions and minor errors in the User's Guide.

Summary: I have put these Talkabout radios through the paces and am very impressed with both the performance and quality. I especially like the solid feel of the unit and the "rubberized" case which provides a nice grip. Voice quality and clarity is excellent and the useable range is easily 3-4 miles over flat unobstructed terrain. Being inside a building does reduce the range somewhat as you might expect. The menu system takes a bit of getting used to but is fine once you learn it. There are some minor errors in the User's Guide and specifically the Vibra-Call and Quick-Talk features are not covered. I have only used the 1/2 watt FRS channels but plan to apply for an FCC license to use the 2 watt GMRS channels. Please note the cost is $80 but this is required to be legal. I am definitely recommending these Talkabout radios if you're looking for good performance.

Strengths: excellent voice quality,well built good looking units

Weaknesses: If any it would be the Manual on a couple of adjustments

Summary: I purchased this on the review that Cool 1986 gave and he is right on when it comes to these units. The voice quality is great once you learn the settings you can easily make any adjustment in the dark there simple to use and adjust I really like that feature, so far have talked over a mile on the 1-2 watt FRS channels and it was like they were standing next to me and so clear really easy to understand what was being said I know that I could have went at least another mile or two as loud and clear as it was coming in at over a mile I highly recommend these units and I might add I was quite supprised at the clarity and distance these units reached so far. I did a lot of searching and comparing and there are probally others out there that are good but I can really say I impressed and proud to be the owner of these.I also purchased 2 push to talk mics there great also Thanks morotola
