Strengths: Cheap, simple, and works well with cable
Weaknesses: Reception with inbuilt antenna is not good, sound quality for some channels can have static, UHF is practically useless
Summary:
The package came with the TV, AC adapter, car adapter, and headphones.
I tried the TV for some time with the inbuilt antenna. TV channel reception was quite poor, but the radio channels worked well. Since I already had cable TV line on location, I attached the cable to the TV.
With cable, the TV can catch all channels on all VHF channels (channel 1~13). Reception is fair. For most channels the picture is very clear and so is the sound. For a few channels, picture is clear but the sound has some static and for only one channel, I cannot hear any sound although there is a picture. I am fairly satisfied with its capability to catch VHF channels. Tuning with the rotary tuner takes some time to get used to, but it works OK with VHF and radio channels.
UHF is a totally different matter. It is very difficult to tune onto a UHF channels, as any of these channels can be caught only over a very narrow rotation of the tuner. It takes quite a lot of fine twiddling the tuner and you MAY be able to tune onto a UHF channel. I have practically given up looking for UHF channels.
The TV picture quality is quite good, when you can latch onto a channel. The contrast/brightness controls can be used to fine tune this. Sound quality is fair.
Overall, the TV has served me fine for the $19.00 I invested in this.
