Strengths: Easy to use - Good mapping tool - No GPS experience required - Cute cursor
Weaknesses: Black & White Screen - When light is on, battery doesn't last so long - MapSource CD-ROM is required to manage waypoints & routes on your PC
Summary: I had very little experience in GPS when I first bought this unit but that was very long time ago. I didn't find it difficult to get used to working on this unit and I personally had alot of fun playing with it. I strongly recommend it to those who are GPS beginners. I had to go and buy a GPS Mapper software to start drawing my own map using my tracks. You won't be sorry for owning this great Garmin GPS unit .... !

Strengths: Nice features; small size
Weaknesses: Hard to get reception inside car sometimes
Summary: This is my first GPS unit, and overall, I am pretty happy. The unit is pretty small and is perfect for hiking. Using it inside a car for navigation is a bit tougher -- the screen is small and can be hard to read inside a car. Plus, getting reception inside a car can be difficult sometimes.

The unit includes 24 megs of memory, which might not sound like much, but should be more than enough to store lots of maps. The unit comes with basemaps, which includes major freeways and streets. However, you can purchase MapSource maps which has more updated and much more detailed maps. MapSource can also allow you to create routes which you can download onto your GPS

Strengths: Compact. Clear screen
Weaknesses: Low batter time . MapSource CD-ROM is required to get any level of detail. Oh, and it does not work unless you a wide, clear view of the sky.
Summary: Waste of money. It does not work unless you a wide, clear view of the sky. If there any trees above, and I mean just any--forget it.. no satelites. If you happen to have a very W-I-D-E and clear view of the sky, then it works well. Speed, distance, elevation, etc.

You also need to spring for extra maps as the one that is installed in very general and has little details.
