Strengths: MADE IN USA, 5 year warranty, replaceable blade, charger and battery. Can be had for $25 delivered price.
Weaknesses: Loose accessories can be lost. No built in charger or stand. Replacement parts can cost nearly half the price of the trimmer.
Summary: I bought this trimmer because the battery gave out after 17 years in my old Panasonic which was soldered on the circuitboard. At first glance, I noticed the Wahl has a battery door like on a television remote. Inside is a user replaceable sub C ni-cad battery. Problem is that at $25 delivered for the trimmer, I am not sure if it is cost effective to replace the battery after the estimated 3-5 year battery life. The best price I found for the replacement blade is $12 and $9 for the battery. Wahl offers a 30 day return, 1 year replacement if it pulls hair, and 5 years limited warranty...this is something else you get by replacing the whole trimmer. I am happy with my purchase and recommend it to anyone looking to buy s quality USA made trimmer.
