Strengths: Good sound quality; 125 watts per channel (1 set of speakers); good output; easy to use
Weaknesses: No phono jack; no microphone jack; popping sound when FM antennae is attached;
Summary: This is good inexpensive stereo receiver for your living room or sound system. I've had it 2 weeks; got it for $130 at Circuit City which was the best price anywhere (free shipping but I picked mine up at the store) Don't forget to get cables to connect your equipment.

Strengths: Low cost, Sony brand name, easy hook-up, good user manual, nice appearance, good performance, quality unit
Weaknesses: None
Summary: 2007-04-06 14:23:28 I needed to replace an older receiver at my children's house so they could listen to CDs and have good sound while watching TV and DVD movies. This Sony receiver was a great choice, with good quality and performance. It fit into the small stereo cabinet that they have (many other choices wouldn't have fit in the tight space) and is easy for the family to use. I'm very happy with the receiver and so are they! They're not looking for high audiophile performance but good performance that fits the rest of their equipment. This fits the bill.

Strengths: Reasonably priced,good bass, nice audio, convenient remote controls, bass boost, a+b switching, 4 channels (I only use 3), can label channels w/ name,2 year warranty, 30 channel sets,.09 distortion
Weaknesses: No subwoofer port, no turntable input, no mic input, requires a lot of ventilation(warms up quickly), no surround sound, no loop for graphic equilizer
Summary: 2005-08-10 22:33:11 I've had this receiver for 2 weeks now, and it seems perfectly fine.I got mine for $140, retailing for $150, which is fairly reasonable. I also got free shipping from Circuit City, which came in only a day. I would say that it works well w/ my Sony 120W bookshelf speakers (SS-MB150H) and my old 4-way Pioneers(150W) as they make a nice thud. The bass sounds especially nice w/ my bookshelfs under the table.
