Strengths: Aki's wrestling engine, surprisingly great voice acting and overall fun gameplay.
Weaknesses: The lack of moves.
Summary: If you're familiar with Aki's wrestling titles for the Nintendo 64, you know just how tight their gameplay is. And this game is no exception.
The story mode is very fun. You encounter different characters and situations throughout the game (which always wind up in a fist fight). In addition to this, you can fully customize your story mode character with hair cuts, "tight gear", bling, tattoos and training, which you do by winning fights with style, collecting money and training points. So there is some good, deep gameplay here and hours of replay value.

Strengths: Good Cast of Characters,Good Simple Fighting Mechanics,And A great Soundtrack
Weaknesses: Kind Of Quick only about 7-10 hours
Summary: This is a great game. You can play alot of fighting games and like it or not play them at all and still like it.It has a good amount of characters, good graphics, great music and is just fun.The plot starts out as most fighting games do.you want to be the best fighter there is.And it takes different paths to seperate it from most fighting games stories. But this one has some of the most big names in hip hop.Snoop Dogg, Xzibit,Ludacris.everyone.It has a wrestling and street fighter style to it.You can fight 1vs1 or 3vs1 in many fighting styles.Cage match,2vs2,tons of modes. But the main thing is the story. Its great.Unique ways to fight and ko people.I highly reccomend this game!

Strengths: Roster full of real life hip-hop stars, one of the best storylines in a fighting game.
Weaknesses: Frame rate issues, no online modes.
Summary: Although Def Jam is just a brawling/wrestling type game, the story mode is what separates it from the majority of fighting games on the market. You basically create your own brawler and progress him through the game. Along the way there are plot twists and confrontations with the other hip hop stars. You also get to trick out your character with clothes, tats, jewelry, etc. Basically everything can be bought (even Jordan apparel) to raise your fighters street cred. The fighting system is quite fun as there is a lot of variety with moves. The backgrounds are quite interactive as you can use them to knock off your opponents in a variety of ways. The game does suffer from some slowdown issues and the lack of online hurts the replay; however, Def Jam is definitely a great game to play and underrated in my opinion.

Strengths: Very fun, real life people
Weaknesses: No Online
Summary: Def Jam Fight for NY is an extremely fun game and the fact that a lot of real life people are included makes it more realistic. The gameplay is really fun and there is a variety throughout the game as you can play story or a bunch of different other fighting modes. The create a player feature is pretty well done as well.

Strengths: Multiple fighting techniques, real hip hop characters, cool music, good voice acting.
Weaknesses: No online play.
Summary: This game is da' bomb. It has a lot of "cool" features such as multiple fighting styles, different style matches, build your character (clothes, 'bling', tattoos, & hair styles), and a tight soundtrack from today's hottest rappers.
Learning the moves is easy and as you progress you can acquire more deadly combos and fighting styles. (Henry Rollins is your trainer - That's just COOL). This game is extremely additive and fun.

Strengths: Great graphics, easy fighting engine, good soundtrack, decent story for a fighting game, lots of real hip-hop artists
Weaknesses: Limited depth of fighting engine, no online play
Summary: Def Jam: Fight For NY is probably the best wrestling game on the Xbox. The graphics are outstanding and the controls are very responsive. The collision detection is good, which is usually a place where most games of this type are lacking. The fighting engine is easy to pick up and start playing. The problem with this game is that it gets somewhat bland after a while. The fighting system is not very deep and even though you can open up additional moves as you progress in story mode, they just don't feel that different than what you start out with. This game has a decent create-a-fighter mode and I like how you can combine up to three different fighting styles as you earn enough training points. The soundtrack is top-notch if you enjoy hip-hop music and a lot of the customization that can be done to your characters will also appeal to those into the hip-hop culture. I'm not a big wrestling or hip-hop fan, but I still feel that this is an above average wrestling title. It truly could've been great if the fighting engine was just a little deeper.

Strengths: storyline,voice actors,star power,gameplay,controls,and graphics
Weaknesses: none
Summary: for a fighting game it has one of the best storylines ever in my oppinion. It takes right after the first game left off, after you beat dmob. He's lying on floor getting arrested, then your [soon to be fighter] blindsides the police car hes in ands takes him to his pad.then your fighter wins and starts taking crow's[snoop dogg]clubs.
the controls are very simple, but you can still pull a four hit combo.you have alot of grapple hold moves you can use, plus its easy to pull off a sick blazin move whitch is probaly the coolest part of the game.
there are also tons of different matchs and fighting styles.
there is also 70 plus fighters to unlock or to choose from including ludacris, method man, redman, nore, snoop dogg, ghostface killah. Some of the characters are made up but they're still pretty cool. Its probaly one of the best fighting games there is.

Strengths: Awesome wrestling/fighting game hybrid gameplay. Great cartoonish graphics makes the game more fun. Deep create a fighter and single player game.
Weaknesses: Maybe could use more fighters? Not a lot to complain about here. Could have used online play.
Summary: The sequel to Def Jam Vendetta is definitely more polished and fun than the first game. I really enjoy wrestling games and fighting games so this was a no brainer. The fighting is pretty deep and fun while not being too deep for casual gamers. The graphics are light enough to just allow you to enjoy feeling the pain you put on your opponents and the soundtrack is just great and fitting for the atmosphere. Altogether, the game is fun and good for getting out some pent up aggression but also great for those who are into wrestling games. I can't say enough about the single player game and the create a fighter mode, it's just something that swallows hours away. It could have used online play for those who get bored of single player, but other than that, there's not much to complain of here.

Strengths: good story
Weaknesses: lack of online play
Summary: This game is jus straight up fun to play. It has rappers, divas, and many others to fight for you. You can create your own character and take him through the story which is suprisingly good. The only thing that hinders the game is the lack of online play. It just begs to be played online. Oh well, there is always Def Jam 3.
