Strengths: Lots of room. Enough to fit SB-400 External Flash, 2 lens, D40 Body, Charger and Cable, and lens hood, and multiple memory cards.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Great bag if you are looking for portability. Great for hiking trips or vacations. Enough room to fit all of your needs except maybe a large tripod. Will recommend this item. This is by far the best backpack I could find at this price.

Strengths: Good size for what I have. SLR w/lens + 1 lens + small accessories + mini tripod + 1 water.
Weaknesses: No top open flap.
Summary: I compared the Lowepro Micro Trekker 100 and this one at the camera store. They are almost exactly the same in size. I like the material of the Tamrac because it is softer than the Lowepro. The Lowepro's rubber logo is more colorful and easier to recognize. The price is a few bucks more for the Lowepro. I finally decided on the Tamrac.

Strengths: Compact size, lightweight
Weaknesses: May not fit all items that you want to take with you.
Summary: I wanted to find a small backpack style camera bag for my new SLR, and this one fit the bill. I ordered this online (sight unseen, except for the pictures), and was a little surprised when it arrived... it was pretty small. But, it's nice and lightweight, and has comfortable straps, and stays put on my back (doesn't flop around from side to side). Sometimes, I even forgot I had it on. It appears to be well constructed, has several dividers that can be removed or reconfigured as needed, and nice mesh pockets on the outside for quick access to smaller items (e.g. While on a recent trip, I found these pockets were a convenient place to store a sunglass case, lip balm and a pen...things I needed to use frequently - or, I could put a filter case in each pocket). The handle on the top is also comfortable more so than just a common strap). However, with a small size comes limited space to carry items. I only have two lenses (longest 150mm), and it fits them as well as a few other small accessories (a few filters, cleaning kit, charger, cables and my mini point and shoot camera). I didn't have the hood on (though I haven't tried). It will likely fit if I remove one divider. The zipper was a little difficult to open and close at first, but after using it for a few days, it started to move quite nicely. It's easy to unzip, pull out the camera, and slide it back in the bag when I'm done.

This is a great case for my needs, but I am a beginner to the SLR world, so I don't have many accessories yet. If you need to carry a long lens, you may need to go up to the next size.

Strengths: Lots of compartments. Compact.
Weaknesses: none
Summary: This is a great price and quality for a small bag. Fits all the things you need to take on a hike or trip. Nicely padded. Protects those expensive items.
