Strengths: Outputs both Analog and Digital.
Weaknesses: 1. Receiver doesn't convert analog video to HDMI. 2. Onscreen menus aren't viewable over the HDMI output.
Summary: This is my first HTIB and all I can say is that this system is great for the price, I got a new one for $660. HTIB HT-S907 delivers an extraordinary combination of excellent features and impressive sound quality.

I am using DLP Projector and HDTV DVDs up conversion feature id Great.

Comming to technical tou can find them @ electronics.pricegrabb...

my satisfaction level is 9 out of 10.

Strengths: 2 HDMI inputs make this system able to receive HD signals from your DVD player and your cable company. Also 1 HDMI output. Lots of component hookups in back. Sounds great w/alot of bang for the buck
Weaknesses: Installation manual is difficult to grasp. Speaker wires are thin. Speakers are a bit heavy.
Summary: Great system for the price! It was hard to find an HTIB with the HDMI inputs needed to maximize my new HD T.V. but this one had it all, including a 6-DVD/CD changer.

Strengths: very good
Weaknesses: none
Summary: This is the first time I am installing a home theater. I did it okay with color-coded wires. I have calibrated using auto calibration suggested in the manual. I listened to audio. It was excellent. While watching movies I found that auto calibration's center speakers is set on higher side and sub woofer setting to lower side than to my liking. I have called Onkyo support and asked them for suggestion, they told me that I can change setting to my liking and still it will not affect the room acoustics point of view. Therefore, I did it and watched Lion King with my family. We all liked it. My kids enjoyed sound effects saying the it matched the movie theater level.

Some have pointed out that wires provided are too thin. To my basics knowledge thin wired still transmit only thing is that they have more resistance. One may opt for monster cable 14 gauge. I am going to change speaker wires shortly with that. I do not have HDTV. Therefore, I cannot say much about DVDs up conversion feature.

Over all very satisfied.

Strengths: Price point, HDMI input/output, awesome sound, easy set up
Weaknesses: With 7 total speakers, needs to have wireless option. Speakers and sub are pretty big. Not all DVD functions are on the receiver remote
Summary: Just finished settting this item up and overall, its a great system. The sound quality on iPod, radio, and DVD is great and the video processing via HDMI is equally good. Oeverall, I would definitely buy this system again and would recommend it. Be sure you have the physical space to accomodate the large speakers and sub woofer - smaller components and a wireless option would be great. If you don't mind not having a remote option, you can scrap the $100 iPod dock and run $5 cables into the Video 4 input.

Strengths: Easy setup, sound quality.
Weaknesses: Relatively expensive
Summary: The setup process was quite easy and well described in the product manuals. The speaker calibration was very easy -just plug in the included microphone and follow the instructions placing the microphone in three different locations for a couple minutes each. The sound quality is excellent. The speakers, other than the bass, are modestly sized and not obtrusive. I spent a little more more than I would have preferred on this, but I think the quality is worth it and have no regrets.

Strengths: Great sound quality, number of inputs and outputs, HDMI.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: 2008-05-15 22:55:11 It works very well, and is a pleasure to use overall. For those who were wondering, it will indeed faithfully reproduce 7.1-channel sound fed to it via linear PCM from a PS3 (when playing back a Blu-ray with Dolby TruHD or DTS-HDMA).
