Strengths: Big woofer, good power, nice controls, great price
Weaknesses: front firing instead of down firing, amplifer cooling fins stick out in back, description is not always correct
Summary: This is a great price for any 15" subwoofer, even better that it is for one of Cerwin-Vega! quality. The 300W power is good for this price; however, make sure you note that it is only 300W, as stated on Cerwin-Vega!s website as well as on the box the product came in. It is mistakenly stated as 450W on most sites. The volume control and continuously variable crossover are nice, as well as the signal sensing power switch (shuts the amplifier off after 20 minutes if there is no signal so you don't always have to be turning the switch on and off).
A down firing woofer would have produced a little better sound and it would have been nicer if the amplifier cooling fins didn't stick out so far in the back so I could push the ports closer to the wall.
