Good Mp3
Strengths: Nice looking, easy control
Weaknesses: No radio
Summary: This philip 1Gb MP3 player has a good sound quality. The voice recording feature is handy. However, this model comes with no radio capability and no sport package which make it only a satisfactory choice.

Strengths: sleek design, perfect sound quality. Plugs to my PC's usb port like a flash drive. Plays all my audio files without problem.
Weaknesses: would be nicer if the backlight is not green.
Summary: overally this is an excellent product. I installed the software in 1 minute and transfered my audio files and data files easily. It looks much more stylish that it appears in the picture.

Strengths: Range of recordings. I sometime use it to record a presentation in a meeting and it comes out really good. Almost without any disturbance.
Weaknesses: None that really bothers me. I wish it had a rechargeable battery.
Summary: This is an excellent mp3 player with voice recording capabilities. Very easy to transfer files to and from the computer. I already had one and I am going to buy another one today.

Strengths: Black body with blue keys is very attractive.
Audio Quality is good.
Weaknesses: Software to transfer music may be difficult to use for some people.
Headphone is cheap.
No FM radio.
Summary: First of all, the MP3 player is quite attractive with its glossy black body and blue keys. The audio quality is good. The headphone is on the cheap side but it gets the job done. The software needed to transfer music files from the PC to the player is somewhat difficult to use, but it is no worser than other comparable MP3 players.
The recording function and sound quality is only fair, but I believe this is not a secondary function for most users.
Overall, given the relative low price, it is a winner.

Strengths: Super easy to use. Plug the end of the player into a USB port, load music on. You can play your music in order, or shuffle. Truly easy to use and great for a beginner/entry level mp3 player
Weaknesses: This isn't an ipod. You can't view all your song options. It would've been nice to have a clip with it.
Summary: This is my first "portable" MP3 player. I needed easy and inexpensive, and this player provides it. I didn't have to install any software...I just plugged it in, and my songs popped up, and I moved them to MP3 download, and they went right onto my player. It's small and fits easily into a pocket (unfortunately, it doesn't come with a belt clip) and perfect for a walk. I'm looking forward to downloading a book. It holds over 400 songs, which for me is enough. It was well worth my money.

Perfect for the novice user.
Strengths: Plays audio quite well. It has a fast forward and a skip function. Seems to be good quality and durable.
Weaknesses: Microphone is too sensitive - picks up too much background noise. The menu system is non-existent. Things cannot be organized very well.
Summary: It is a great unit if all you want is to put MP3 songs on it and play them. If you want to organize your songs, this is not the unit for you.

Strengths: Good brand, easy to use
Weaknesses: Not Rechargeable
Summary: This is a solid little MP3 player that I found easy to use and well made. The only problems I had were a slight wait till (a little more than average) in downloading songs and that fact that it is not rechargeable (I like to be able to just charge up my MP3 player while I'm sleeping). But, besides these issues, this thing worked great. Highly recommened!

Strengths: Easy to use; Can work as an extra storage device; Good sound quality.
Weaknesses: Cannot choose album to play. Microphone is too small (hard to tell the recording quality). Earphone looks crappy, though works fine. No much accessories to match it.
Summary: 2006-11-08 20:38:36 I bought this one for about 30 after rebate from Office Depot. Till now, it works very well. I have a Gigabeat of 10G. But the Gigabeat is not good for me to take with when I am doing some excising. I compare the sound quality of the two: this small Philips mp3 does a good job in some sense. It is said to be a hard drive structure, but I think it has the same design as that of the SanDisk mp3. They are with flash drive instead of hard drive. So it is easy for you can store some file just in case. And it has an extra usb cable, in case of some place that is hard to plug in. The shape of it will make it easy for you to see the song you are playing. The earphone looks crappy: I am afraid that it won't last long. The mic is very tinny: I doubt the quality of recording, though I haven't tried it yet. And there is one more inconvenience. There is no matching accessories for it. I want to find an armband to hold it instead of holding it in my hand when I am running. Perhaps some ipod nano armband will come in handy. And I may need to find some screen film for its easy-to-scratch surface too.

Strengths: good sound quality, good voice recorder, easy to use,
Weaknesses: uses a lot of batteries, can't fast forward through a song only skip to next
Summary: It is definitely a good buy and worth the money. I like the ease of being able to add and erase songs. Is plugs directly to your usb port. If you are looking for good sound quality and convenience this is worth the money.

Fair mp3 player, but no DRM
Strengths: USB connector on the unit, No extra cable needed.
Nice looking
Weaknesses: The size is bigger than others.
It can not/will not play DRM enabled music
Summary: For a player without DRM capability, this one is too expensive. You can get a Sandisk Sansa player that supports DRM for about the same price. But if you don't download music, this one is better in one way---USB connector is right on the unit.

Strengths: Easy to carry, easy to operate
Weaknesses: No FM
Summary: It is easy to carry with you, even when exercising. The AAA bateray save your time to recharge. Sometimes I forgot to recharge and that gives me a lot of trouble. When use battery, I do not need to bother.
The button is good to avoid unintensional operation.

Strengths: AAA batteries
Weaknesses: the controls are a bit awkward
Summary: Well this is replacing my dying Sandisk. AAA battery is a plus for me since I keep forgetting to chage, fast USB 2.0 connection is good, no software needed to transfer files.

Strengths: Plays audio just great. It seems to be of good quality and durable.
Weaknesses: The microphone is very sensitive and picks up EVERYTHING! There is no menu system.
Summary: Great unit - great price. Perfect for the inexperienced user who just wants to listen to music. If you want more advanced functions, look elsewhere. Not for someone who wants a highly organized music library.
