Strengths: Easy setup. No rear speaker wires to install. Automatic adjustment with included microphone. Super clarity. Distinct surround sound effect
Weaknesses: Might not have enough output wattage for a large room. I use max volume when playing DVD movies 14 feet distance. Rear quadrant surround sound not as good as a true 5.1 system.
Summary: I purchased this system specifically because I did not want to install rear speaker wires to the rear of my room. I was aware I would not get the same rear quadrant quality as a true 5.1 system. This system was rated superior to the Bose 321 systems by CNet, and I concur. It is a super system for surround sound, as well as a stereo system to play CDs, AM and FM radio (tuner included in the system). It is a great replacement for my old stereo system.
I strongly recommend this system for anyone who wants as 2.1 system and understands it will not match true 5.1 quality.
