Weaknesses: na Summary: I am upgrading from an old (close to original) 802.11b Router/AP. When I got this router out of the box, first thing I did was upgrade the firmware then hooked it up. I have had no issue with any aspect of the router. The range is unreal, and the signal stength is steady wherever I am in the house. The VPN (once configured on the router and UID is created) works great. Takes a few minutes to authenticate, but after that everything is great. Please keep in mind that this is not a novice level piece of equipment. I have extensive hardware/networking background. 100% of People (10/10) found this review helpful. Good routing with VoIP SIP phones. Weaknesses: QoS are a Joke. very slow reboot. Bad mixed wireless performance. Price. Linksys customer support phone support it absolutely horribe. Summary: My main beef with the router is the QoS settings.. You have to enter in how much bandwidth you have in order for it to work.. However it does not differentiate between upload and download.. So my 16 Down 768 Up with QoS turned on will be 768 UP and 768 Down.. I think this is a real lack of thought on this product since 99% of people that are going to use it have a higher download then upload.. Hopefully it will be fixed with the next firmware release. Firmware Version: V1.00.12 But since this is a pricier more bussiness product, I doubt there will be any support or good firmware updates.. I called for general questions about the product to there support team. I don't think it matters what you call for it will always be a 45-50 minute call for them to tell you they can't help you.. But actually since there screen does not say that they will only repeat whatever they read over and over again.. I like there products but I would never recommend contacting there support for anything.. If it doesn't work take it back. Weaknesses: Poor interoperability with other Linksys 802.11b wireless products. Summary: I purchased this router primarily because it could keep up with my local cable ISPs download speeds approaching 15Mbps. The only thing that disappointed me was that it would not work with my existing Linksys wireless ethernet bridge and a Linsys WUSB11. And Wireless-N is the next best technology to replace Wireless-G. Weaknesses: The user manual isn't very helpful in setting up the router. Summary: 2007-11-05 03:06:52 I ordered this router to connect to another VPN router so I could setup a site to site network. This router is fairly easy to setup to the Internet if you have prior experience. The manual is basically junk and if you really need help you should call Linksys's technical support number which is 1(800) and does a GREAT job helping with technical issues. I'd recommend this router to anyone looking for a Wireless-N router or anyone looking for Wireless VPN capability. 100% of People (1/1) found this review helpful.
