Strengths: Great when it worked. Easy set up, clear menus.
Weaknesses: Unreliable.

Slow disc handling.

Disc drawer motor burned out after 15 months. Cost to repair was about $150 ($30 part, $120 labor). Toshiba offered 1/2 price on replacment part, but only if work was done by factory authorized service center. Thanks but no thanks.

Strengths: Video and outputs, Component video, Bitstream and PCM audio
Weaknesses: Audio, no CD-R's or RW's, lackluster DAC.
Summary: Great deck for its time. Twin discs is a nice feature, as is the zoom. Picture qualtiy is great on our 53 Sony and sound is fine if you bypass the built in Dobly Digital decoder. This unit has been totally reliable.
