Strengths: Easy to use, toasts evenly, lever raises bread so that you don't burn your fingers
Weaknesses: Haven't found any.
Summary: 2005-08-15 09:35:50 I was looking for a good old-fashioned toaster that wouldn't take up a lot of counter space. Ratings had indicated that this was a solid candidate. I received the toaster about 5 days ago, and it has performed very well in toasting bread and english muffins. I am enjoying the ease of use of this product.

Strengths: Toast bread evenly. It is well built.
Weaknesses: Non so far.
Summary: I saw this toaster as the number one option recomended by Gourmet Magazine. I wanted a high end toaster and was willing to buy another one more expensive which I tought was better. After reading Gourmet's magazine review I decided to purchase this instead and I am happy with the decision. There is no need to pay since this toaster is excellent.

Strengths: Handsome as the day is long-
Weaknesses: Other reviewers findings about uneven browning are a bit unfounded, not untrue but super critical?
Summary: 2008-08-05 08:12:55 looks excellent next to the Farberware coffee pot, easy to use and understand. Have not used the extended lift feature sure it will help get a grip on the English muffins. Have had it for some time now and it is a solid toaster, think that the reports of uneven toast are a bit too critical, slightly? maybe ... overall the top is slightly darker, but not in a shocking way, it also depends on the bread, found with thin rye where it slumps and makes itself closer to the heating elements it is uneven, but that isn't the fault of the toaster as much as it is of the bread. Upped my rating after living with the appliance for some time now.

Strengths: - different bread size setting - toasts evenly - STOP button !! you have to remove the power to do this on other toasters - wider slots - Warmer feature
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: We have tried many toasters till now and this is by far the best. toasts evenly which is nice. setting for different bread sizes so you dont have to touch the hot surface to remove smaller pieces. Stop button helps rather than pulling out the power cord. We got it at a great price about $40 at Mervyns

Strengths: Toasts bread, bagels and buns evenly. There is a wide range of settings for browning.
Weaknesses: I haven't found any yet!
Summary: This is the best toaster I have ever owned and is worth the price. The slots are wide enough to toast hamburger and brat buns on the "bagel" setting without burning them. The lever that raises the toast has multiple settings so even the smallest piece of toast is easily lifted out. I would buy this toaster again and have recommended it to my friends and family.

Strengths: Many settings and options. Accommodates thick to thin items. The multi-position lever to lift smaller items out. Defrost setting works well--I keep my bread in the freezer. Warming tray.
Weaknesses: Some breads toast unevenly--toasting more on top and less on the lower portion of the slice. A bit bulky on limited counter space.
Summary: Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. It is a very nice looking unit, the brushed stainless steel and the blue led defrost and bagel buttons give it a cool contemporary feel. After using this unit regularly with my favorite breads, I appreciate the many settings and adjustments which allow me to get it "just right."

2 Star ReviewWouldn't buy it again..
Strengths: I liked the design, the construction seemed solid, but....
Weaknesses: it did not toast bagels evenly or dark enough. I had to turn them 180 degrees and re-toast for about a minute to get a crispy crust.
Summary: And then...one slot started to bind. I toast mostly bagels. The cycle would end, but the bagel wouldn't pop up all the way. I had to stick a knife into the bagel and lift it out of the slot, but that ended up bending the wire holder. I had to unbend it several times and then finally gave up on it. Between the fact that it didn't toast evenly or dark enough, I was pretty annoyed - this toaster wasn't cheap and I expected more from Krups.

Strengths: simple, multi function, style
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: After buying a series of $15-$20 toasters that lasted a couple years(at best), I found this toaster that was well built, functional and fit with the other stainless appliances in the kitchen. So far it has lived up to expectations. Toast is quickly, uniformly done and controls are simple and effective. I believe a good buy at under $60.

Strengths: Nice wide slots, even toasting, easy to control
Weaknesses: Some of the designs on the face are a little hard to see with bifocals and glare from the stainless steel front
Summary: I was pleased with this toaster. Toasting is consistent and has enough control to get whatever you are toasting to come out right every time. I bought this for my 84 year old mother and she was able to operate it without much difficulty. I like the nice wide slots and the lifting ability so she won't have to DIG inside for her toast - just push the lever all the way to the left and the bread is pushed up out of the toaster. Nice feature. All in all a great toaster. If I was looking for a toaster for myself - I would buy this kind!

3 Star ReviewKrups FEM2B
Strengths: Stylish design. Nice inclusion of warming tray. Bagel function is appreciated.
Weaknesses: Did not toast evenly.
Summary: Very handsome toaster design will look good in your kitchen. Some nice extra features make this is good buy, although not sure how many people will use the warming tray. Just wish the toasting was more consistent.
