Strengths: Very sharp depth of field and clear pictures when set to SHARP setting. Great for web and small prints. Somewhat heavy to lug around but has a great feeling in your hand.
Weaknesses: Digital Zoom is terrible as are most digital cameras. Eats batteries for lunch! No shutter speed stops. The lens cover is a joke! You must be careful not to damage the lens.
Summary: I won the camera originally at a Mac user group meeting in Oct of 2000. I had no idea how to use one. I adapted & learned-Use a good image editing software like Adobe Photo Shop Elements 2.

A two-mega pixel camera with many fine features- lacks shutter speed stops & uses batteries very fast. Fine for the technology of a few years ago but now days many people want more manual as well as automatic features on digital cameras. I still have this camera and know how to use it well- no plans to get rid of it. A two meg camera is fine for taking pictures to send on the internet & print only a few using either 3x5 or 4x6 inch photo paper. It will print passable 8x10 pictures for presentations but you must set up the camera software resolution prior to shooting photos so you will have enough pixels to print large photos.

Pictures I have taken with this camera are of good to excellent quality and very sharp and clear. I have taken quite literally a few thousand in three years. They are quite passable if you are only going to send them via e-mail or post on web sites. The digital zooms on most all digital cameras are not up to the optical zooms. This one is no exception. The digital zoom is way below acceptable and I hardly ever use it once I found out the drawbacks. I would recommend this camera to amateurs and novices who want to keep their costs down and do not plan to print many pictures. This is a great camera for monitor viewing, web use, and takes very usable closeups.

Strengths: Ease of use; acceptable picture quality
Weaknesses: Difficulty in uploading to computer; not sure if it's the camera or the cable. Use a flash memory reader now.
Summary: I prefer my old Rollei 35 except for lack of zoom. Were I to buy today, would probably choose a Leica Varilux or an HP 935.

Strengths: Good quality pictures at first.
Weaknesses: Poor quality worksmanship. Camera failed.
Summary: I have used two Kodak digital cameras, the DC280 and the DC4800. These are my LAST Kodak cameras. They both failed mechanically when I needed them!
