Strengths: Very flexible design with multiple inputs and outputs. Integrates well with other Pioneer equipment including CD jukebox and 5 disk DVD player.
Weaknesses: Type size in the manual is very small on many of the illustrations.
Summary: I bought Pioneer because of their solid reputation and the hope that the multifunction controller would handle my existing Pioneer PD-F908 100 CD Player and with my Pioneer DV-C603 5 disk DVD player. The controller handles both easily and I have put away two remote controls.

Their are sufficient inputs/outputs and controls to run a great home theater setup. However the manual needs improvement in both language and type size.

Strengths: Has many options of surround sound & pretty easy to setup & operate.
Weaknesses: None presently
Summary: For the price I paid ($179.00) last year, this was a great buy. It's not the top of the line receiver, but it's good enough for my use. I have it hooked up to some Yamaha speakers and it does its job.

Strengths: Flexibility! Can use with several audio inputs with ease, delivers great sound, and looks sharp.
Weaknesses: I probably have not scratched the surface of all that this unit can do. I thought I knew about home audio, but I think I got passed by in the last few years!
Summary: 2004-09-08 15:22:08 Very nice unit, works well with the system I have set up. Handles DVD input, satellite, CD, radio, and more. I like the feature where you can balance your audio sound and set it up for whatever dimensions your room may have. Remote is comfortable and easy to use, provided I keep it to the basics. If I try to do too much, I get lost easily. I pride myself on my technological prowess, but home audio (which used to be a snap) now baffles me...

Overall, a very nice unit and worth the price. By the way, I saved more than $220 over what I would have spent at Best Buy!

Strengths: has an input for all 6 components i needed to hook up. many options for surround sound. also helps speaker set up by figuring how far away each speaker is from listening area.
Weaknesses: making room for the 8" of clearance needed above receiver for heat distribution.
Summary: very nice receiver. probably more than i need at this time, but was such a great price, especially compared to what it would cost me at BB or CC. many speaker terminals, and even makes my older speakers sound better. very easy to conrol and learn all of the features. remote control is easy to use and very convenient. can't imagaine needing anything better.
