Strengths: Great sound. Nice graphics. Customizable "screensavers."
Weaknesses: Visibility of screen during day. Menus are sometimes funky.
Summary: This is a really nice head unit. I've enjoyed it over the last 3 months. Rich sound. For the most part, it's all you would expect from a $400+ stereo.
But, there are a few little things that bug me about it:
1. The most annoying thing so far, is that in my truck (04 Ram 1500) the screen is barely visible during the day. It's not that the screen isn't bright enough, it's that they put rounded plastic face on it that reflects virtually every ounce of light in the truck. Even when I cup my hand over it, I can't see it. Looks great at night, though. This may not be as big a factor for smaller cars where the unit is mounted lower.
2. They could have made life a little easier while trying to tune this thing, but making the menus stay up even when you adjust the volume. If you have the fade screen on and are adjusting your mix, and you hit the volume, it takes you back to the main screen. Then you have to navigate through the menus again to get to fade.
3. When going through MP3 folders, it always starts at the first folder, and then when you select it, the first song. Meaning, even if your 4 folders in, and 35 songs in, if you turn the knob to "browse" your MP3 titles, it starts all the way back at the beginning of the CD. This really sucks.
Other than these 3 things.. I love the radio. I have pictures of my kids on the screensaver, and with their software you can pretty much put whatever you want on it.
