More I use it more I am becoming convinsed that made a wise and mesured choice.

No other lens will work with this camera, don't be fulled with advertisement from other manufacturers and save your time and mony.

The optical quality is excellent for that sort of ...

Strengths: For the money, excellent. Good way of extending the use patterns for Dimage 7Hi, A1, and A2

Weaknesses: no documented front filter diameter for use with a protective UV filter. Cheap lens caps, no zooming possible

Summary: The optical quality is excellent for that sort of a product, costing barely more than a high-end filter of a diameter similar to the front lens of this thing.

It maintains a reasonable level of aperture.

The lens caps in back and front are cheesy, though: just soft-plastic slip-on covers that will wear out in no time, not spring loaded plastic or metal-screw type covers. This is a real pity!

Similarly, there's no documented diameter such that one could use a multi-coated UV filter to protect the front lens and get away with one less lens cover to deal with...

A nice touch is that the Minolta Dimage 7Hi and A1 are also upgradable to this lens and their users are not just abandoned!

Konica-Minolta ACT-100 1.5x Tele Adapter Lens

Strengths: Crystal clear optics with no vignetting.

Weaknesses: Heavy!

Summary: This 1.5x telephoto adapter lens extends the zoom on my KM A200 to 300mm while maintaining the superb image quality and light transmission of the A200's GT lens. It's a perfect match for the A200's image stabilization - without it a tripod is a practical necessity.

The adapter is 89mm in diamter, 80mm long, and weighs in at 500g (more than a pound)! That's alot of glass and must be supported when attached to the A200, but one quickly grows accustommed to it.

The included plastic lens caps are on the cheap side, but they work. A nice carrying bag is supplied, too.
