Strengths: Lightweight, great price, display is excellent and is faster than I even expected
Weaknesses: The DVD will not burn higher than 2.6, and the junky Roxio Software only burns data DVD's at about 1x. The speakers have very little volume and below average sound.
Summary: Sony Vaio had always been a pipe dream in terms of affordability to me. However, this top line system with the latest in Centrino Duo Core 2 technology boasts features beyond what you can find in comparable computers such as the Dell, HP or Acer. It is quick and powerful. The screen is amazing! However, a feature that lured me in was the integrated webcam and actually, I found the quality for such a high graphics quality screen, to be lacking as compared to the HP or Acer's integrated cam. The speakers are not the best either, with a bit of a muffled sound, however this is my first laptop and perhaps its just a matter of getting used to. I plan to supplement with wireless headphones. Overall, so far, a beautiful piece of equipment for less money

Strengths: Screen, Features, Speed, Price
Weaknesses: Clunky touch pad buttons
Summary: This is my sixth Sony notebook and it is my favorite so far for mid-size units. It has a great screen which has a superb combination of brightness and color. The VGN-FE770G is somewhat feature laden and is able to handle all applications with aplomb. The buttons below the touchpad are a bit noisy/clunky and the keyboard has a bit longer travel than I would prefer but they aren't major drawbacks. Battery life is average for a notebook of this size and capabilities, in truth I wasn't expecting much more. The weight is in the right range also. Overall this is a good deal on an excellent notebook.

Strengths: The screen is of good size (big enough) and it has a built-in camera. Simple to use keyboard and I love the look.
Weaknesses: The mousepad on the laptop makes it difficult for me to click on something.
Summary: I fell in love with this laptop when I first saw it. It had an S-video output, enough USB ports for me (it has 3), and a wide screen. I love the look except this little lock button on the laptop bothers me a bit. But overall, this is a great laptop.

Strengths: Features, video, sound, looks, most everything.
Weaknesses: touchpad sort of.
Summary: This is my 4th laptop, having had 2 IBM ThinkPads, (older versions) my last one is a Gateway M305, I received this laptop about a month ago, all I have to say is WOW!! This laptop rocks. I like everything about this laptop, it has great video, the sound is impressive. I read a couple of posters who stated that the sound quality left something to be desired, try turning you volume all the way up both down on the task bar and with your vol. up down buttons. If need be go into the control panel and do the advance with the sound. So far I would have to give this laptop a 5 star + rating.

My only gripe with this laptop, and its not really an issue, is the touchpad, everything flows smoothly, but on occasion I find especially when I'm on line that if I hit a certain spot on the touch pad I wind up going back a page. Me thinks its operator error, and can probably rectify the problem in the control panel somewhere.

Another thing I like is the built in camera and the utility that goes with it. I have had many compliments about thislaptop and am sure it will serve me well. I am an Amateur Radio operator (HAM), and when called upon help provide emergency communications, this will be a great tool, if we here in Fl. get hit again. All in all one of the BEST laptops it has been my pleasure to use.
