Strengths: Everything is good except weakness
Weaknesses: No face detection feature
Summary: If you are interested in taking pictures in any kinds of angle, I recommened to buy this one; otherwise you'd better search other cameras with features like image quality, optical zoom...etc.

I will not recommend S10 to anyone
Strengths: Good image quality.
Weaknesses: Lens Error
Summary: It is not even 1 year I bought this camera for $300. It has started giving me Lens Error randomly most of the time I try to turn it on. So, I can't even use it. And I have read many reviews online that Nikon S10 has this problem.
Otherwise, it takes nice picture great results, BUT IT SHOULD TURN ON TO DO THAT!!!!!!

Strengths: nikon qoality, great lens, great built in flash, a vast improvement over the s4. image stab. works good.
Weaknesses: nikon prop. battery is good, light, not as convenient as AA rechargeables.
Summary: my old s4 had several weaknesses. nikon addressed them all: great lcd screen (no problem, bright or dim). flash much better range. image stab. works well. Big zoom, small size, convenient shape, idiot proof menus. too bad nikon had to rush S4 out without these improvements.

Strengths: (1) A slim camera considering that it has a 10x zoom.
(2) Has image stablization.
(3) Panoramic assist feature - very useful
Weaknesses: (1) Awkward design such that your thumb will have to be placed on the LCD when taking a photo.
(2) The body is a little big for my small hands - not very comfortable to hold when taking photos.
Summary: Originally, I had my mind set on buying Canon's SD700IS for its image stablization feature and the quality of Canon's photo images. Then, I stumbled upon the Coolpix s10 and was swept away by the features it is packing into a relatively small body. Of course, it is much bigger than the similarly priced Canon's SD 700IS, but I feel that I can happily trade off Canon SD 700IS small size for the Coolpix S10's 10x zoom which is very rare for such a camera of this size. I tried the 10x zoom and it is wonderful! The photo quality is also pretty good as long as you know how to use the camera properly, i.e. you will have to play around with the settings... I took quite a few photos over the Christmas holiday season and the photos turned out pretty well. The paranomic assist feature is also very useful for taking photos of a large group of people or landscape photos. I did a lot of research before finally deciding on this camera based on my needs and the price I am willing to pay. If you want a relatively compact camera with a big zoom, 6 mega pixels, image stablization, paranomic assist, rechargable batteries and video with sound, this is the camera to go for... Its price has dropped recently to below $300 - making it a better buy.

Strengths: 10 X optical zoom
Weaknesses: lack of metering options
Summary: 2007-01-31 12:04:44 This is an outstanding camera - it is easy to use, and has a large lcd which is clear in sunlight. The 10 X optical zoom with virbration reduction is no gimmick. I have found sharp images using full zoom in various light conditions. I found the one touch portrait button only worked in locating faces some of the time, but that is a minor flaw considering it is an unnecessary feature. I would have liked to have seen more metering options, such as spot metering, which I had in my Coolpix 5900. I would highly recommend this camera to people who are not interested in manual options but want the quality associated with Nikon as well as a great zoom lens.

Strengths: 10x Zoom, Compact Size, Impressive Speed, Great Resolution
Weaknesses: Prefer Compact Flash where this camera only offers SD memory format
Summary: This camera is the perfect "hybrid" between the standard digital point and shoot camera and the professional body cameras with long tele-photo lenses. This little gem really impressed me. Thank You Santa!

An S4 with IS and a better screen? No thanks
Strengths: good focus ability and the 10x zoom in a small pocket package
Weaknesses: ...it's an s4 with IS and a better screen. It doesn't need a better screen, it needs to get rid of the "s4" part. The s4s image resolution is horrible.
Summary: Seriously, don't even bother buying this camera until you read my review of the S4 here in pricegrabber. And in general, if even then you are still thinking of buying this camera, take a look at my reviews of my Canon S2, A610 and A710, Panasonic DMC-FZ5, and Olympus SP-500 here on pricegrabber. Also my Nikon Coolpix 4800 review, along with my Panasonic DMC-TZ1 review, and Fuji A345, F650 and A600 reviews. You owe it to yourself, not only is it your money, it's your time and your memories. I've done my part now do yours :)

Strengths: Clear image, easy to use
Weaknesses: Too Bulky
Summary: We purchase this camera from Costco, reasonable price with stable quality. We are very happy with this purchase. The only problem is the size. It's a ittle bulky, If you carry around, you need a bigger carry case. However, the quality of photos are nice.

Strengths: good lens, 10x optical zoom,
Weaknesses: unusual design for a camera
Summary: I would highly recommend this camera to people looking for an easy to use camera with good image quality. The 10x optical zoom is good for a camera this size. The internal memory is small, but it is better than nothing. Image stabilization is a nice feature.
