Strengths: Easy install, short directions, and DRIVERS WORK (can't say that about all the other stuff out there that is for PC mainly and chokes on OSX)
Weaknesses: Very directional. Orient it for best reception.
Summary: With OSX 10.4 I had absolutely no problems installing, it even found my wireless settings (WEP) and used them, although their install software is very straightforward to set this up. Drivers worked fi

1 Star ReviewIt's cheap for a reason
Strengths: It's cheap
Weaknesses: It's not automatic, weak reception, has clunky software
Summary: I tried to use this to patch an iBook whose internal airport had failed. Software installed easily, but the fun ended there. It launches this very clunky interface that doesn't support most mac jargon. Unless you are running an open network and broadcasting the SSID, forget about it. And the range? I only worked in the room where the base station is. It didn't take me long to chuck it, so I may be wrong, but it seemed like you had to configure it every time you woke up the computer!

Strengths: works perfectly! the software is pretty straight forward after 10 mins of fiddling with it.
Weaknesses: direction sucks. i had to call their tech support for help.
Summary: This device would look waay better in white. c'mon its for a mac! i was able to connect to my home network and work's network without a problem. their directions really do no make sense so I will have to advise to figure it out yourself if your are smart enough or call their support line.

Strengths: It was easy to install
Weaknesses: Zero
Summary: If you're like me and need a usb adapter for whatever reason you have... don't hesitate. This worked like a charm. I installed it with OSX tiger and had it working within 2 minutes. I didn't even read the instructions. It works nearly 40 feet away, around a corner, through a door and upstairs in my office where I use it. If you're that much of a moron that you need instructions for this than you probably shouldn't be using a computer.

Weaknesses: nothing
Summary: i wonder why these guys arent as known in the mac community. this product is amazing. I had it for roughly 3 months now and i dont know what i would do with out it. i would pay twice as much for something like this.

Strengths: This works great. Directions aren't the best, but with a bit of work it works great. I use it on a G4 powerbook.
Weaknesses: None to date.....
Summary: They aren't many choices out there when your Mac lappy doesn't have built in airport.... well this is actually the only choice i found. It's a great price too.....Works Great!!!

1 Star ReviewDead End
Strengths: None found
Weaknesses: Mac is an afterthought so far as this device is concerned. Dead end instructions, poorly written, devices not identified properly and a rediculous suggestion to go find a patch that someone wrote.
Summary: As with most, dead end phone lines that reach a poorly staffed support group. MacMall told me to call AddLogix and AddLogix told me to call MacMall. I guess they can keep some people running back and forth.

The Mac instructions are tacked onto the CD cover as an afterthought.

This thing is a joke.

Strengths: wifi for older mac machines!!! FINALLY! I'm past being thrilled.
Weaknesses: know your network configuration. if you dont know it just call your yahoo dsl or whoever your ISP is and request your network configuration. Unless your network is unsecured then it should be no problem.
Summary: This is truly a great product! I installed this on OS X 10.3 without any problems. I can truly have wireless freedom. Let me tell you I have been searching for a product that would support my ibook and this is probably the best 30 bucks I have ever spent! Now my laptop is able to get a wireless connection at work, school, home and even starbucks. Life is good.

Strengths: Compatible with Mac OS X, and Windows
Weaknesses: Little difficult to set up for Mac
Summary: This is great! There is nothing else out there that I can use on both my Mac and My PC or when I switch from Windows to OS X on my PowerBook. Price is great. Although it was a little tricky to install

2 Star ReviewVery Poor driver and manufacturer support
Strengths: only advertised usb network adapter for mac I can find
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: Reception is only mediocre at best. The driver software is flawed in that it wont remember preference settings for repeat usage. I have to re-enter encrytion keys every day. Try to email support@addlogix - Nope - bounces back because email acct is full. Adapter needs to be unplugged and replugged on each boot up for my Mac to recognize it. Add Logix' fix for this is a 3rd party hack app. you download from some guys home site and install. That really makes you feel good about this Co. Mine's going back to the store. 7 days and Im finished with it. Cat5 cable or an Airport for me.

2 Star ReviewAddlogix USB 2.0 Wireless (IEEE 802.11b/g) Adapter
Strengths: Technically compatable with OS X
Weaknesses: Weak reception, clumsy software, incompatable with Verizon's WEP security.
Summary: Had some reception problems with my TiBook's internal wireless reciever, so I've been looking for an external adapter. This is the only one that advertises its Mac compatability. Well, that's about all it's got going for it. The reception is far weaker than the TiBook's internal one, the included driver software is clumsy and poorly documented, and it refuses to work with my Verizon DSL's WEP password protection. The company's website suggests that I solve the problem by turning off my password protection. For this I paid 19 bucks for shipping? Weak sauce, folks. If you need a Mac-compatable wireless adapter, this ain't the one. I think I'm gonna go find another Belkin adapter. The one I had broke after 3 days, and it was still better than this. And the driver the chip manufacturer threw together (available on their site; google RaLinkTech drivers) is far better than the one provided with this.
