Strengths: 5x optical room and advanced features in small size camera
Weaknesses: Unable to see the object from the LCD screen in bright sunlight – Not a good outdoor camera.
Summary: It is amazing that such a tiny camera has included so many new features and can produce high quality pictures. The new technologies like Bright Capture and digital image stabilization enable it to take great quality pictures in dark environment. Comparing with Stylus 750, 740 camera has the same optical zoom and digital image stabilization function. So it is very much worth the dollars spent.

Strengths: Easy to use. Cute looking
Weaknesses: only xd card.
Summary: This camera is a good unit to me. Pretty cute looking. The LCD screen looks very clean and nice. The 5X zoom is enough for normal usage. There is a help section in the camera system, this really helps me. It supports xd card, while I prefer the sd card. Overall, I am satisfied with this unit.

Strengths: size, weight, ease of use, large lcd, great zoom, excellent battery life
Weaknesses: overpowering flash
Summary: I've really enjoyed this camera. I carry it in my purse and barely know it's there- very compact and super light. The battery life was surprisingly long. Picture quality is great. Lots of good scene options. Very large LCD with a night-vision feature that makes shooting in low light possible. 5x zoom is an incredible feature on a camera this size. My only complaint so far is the intensity of flash can not be adjusted. It seems that it's not quite bright enough for outdoor low light conditions but it's too bright for portraits.

1 Star ReviewSERIOUS FLAW
Strengths: Doesn't Matter
Weaknesses: Shooting outside is VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE because the glare makes the screen nearly unviewable. If only they had included a viewfinder.
Summary: 2006-11-05 09:39:42 Stay away from digital cameras without viewfinders unless you have tested the viewing screen outside. This camera is almost completely useless if you want to use it outside. HOW COULD THE DESIGNERS OVERLOOK SUCH A HUGE FLAW?

Strengths: Great Optical Zoom, Reasonably Priced, Small Size, Great Image Quality
Weaknesses: Glare outside (outdoors), battery life, XD Card (not a standard SD/Memory Card!)
Summary: I've had this camera for a bit over a month now. It's fairly good for eveyday use. I've used it indoors and outdoors. Similar to other reviews, it may not be perfect for outdoors, but I use it indooors more often anyways.

It is very lightweight, easy to use and I love the image quality! Olympus makes solid cameras, but nothings perfect!

I would reccomend this camera over some of the smaller Sony models, as they are overpriced and not as functional.

The XD Card is nice, but a bit pricey as well. Since its not a standard SD/Mini SD card, expect to pay a premium for this new technology. It was a bit confusing to understand the "Type M and Type H" of XD Cards as well. However, both work with this camera.

I paid less than $200 for this camera, so I'm quite pleased with it!

Strengths: Light, solid and excellent picture quality
Weaknesses: No view finder, but learned to live as is.
Summary: A truly good camera, lightweight, solid, quiet, with lots of options to render this camera a winner. The XD card is a plus even though a little overpriced, but overall this little delight delivers great results. Would definitely recommend it.
