Strengths: Plays DVD+R and +RW, -R, -RW, CDR and CDR-RW, and records/plays VHS. Plays NTSC and PAL. Small and light.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I have had an older Zenith model of this combo for about two years, and I love it. When I wanted to add DVD player capability to the bedroom, I searched pricegrabber, read the reviews, and tech specs for a similar machine. Found many, but for the features and the price (around $70 on sale), I got this one. It plays DVD5, both NTSC (analog) and PAL (if you have European friends who send you DVDs). But its strength is really all the disc formats it plays. I couldn't find any other combo that plays DVD+/-R and R/W, CD-R and R/W. The remote is well-designed, but the buttons are small, and I find that my fingers are getting "fatter" as I age. Since it doesn't play the newer Blu-Ray and HD discs, it may not be the future, but is a great value for today.
