Strengths: Alpine Quality, SQ in sealed box. Awesome Rock subs!
Weaknesses: Thiel-smalls ratings not best for ported enclosures so you won't be quite as loud as cheaper subs. (Be very afraid though, very loud still)
Summary: If you listen to Rock, new, old, classic, Jazz or blues, these are the ones you need. I'm not an experience hiphop fan except for some classics like JayZ, Ice Cube, DMX, they all hit really good but ported is better for that music. These subs hit deep and hard and the SQ is amazing. The Alpine quality is there too, these will last forever. The baskets look great, super clean, and no wiring for the dual voice coils, they are jumpered to either 2 ohm subs overall or 8 ohm overall subs and can present either 1 or 4 ohms to the amp depending on configuration in pairs. These subs hurt, they hit deep and hard! These internet pictures are a joke, these subs are HUGE!

Strengths: It hits extremely hard at the lows
Weaknesses: Lacks the ability to hit the highs very well (bearable tho the 10" sub might be able to get there I haven't heard i got the 12")
Summary: This sub hits so hard, and it still hits at the highs but its real strength is that deeeep bass. You can pick up a 10" sub to go with it and youd be good across the board if you wanna spend a lil more, but I just got this and am EXTREMELY happy with it. I didn't even get it ported and it still hits louder than these RF T2's are hittin for a good price. Worth every penny I spent, but this sub really shines when you give it a shtload of power. My power level is adequate ($950 alpine MRD-1001 1000w) but a good amp for this if you were looking to expand your audio is get the insane RF amp that puts out like 1000w at 4ohms!!! (sick! but its 2 grand :O)

Sorry about the lengthy review, but this thing is an awesome buy, but the whole thing set me back like $1200 (I got some serious discounts on my shyt, which totalled like $600, originally i would have paid around 1800). But it's definitely worth it.

Strengths: Fantastic SQ sub with high end power handling
Weaknesses: Won't out-SPL your buddies cheap ported subs tuned to 50hz.
Summary: Very impressed with this sub. Definitely in line with Brahma, Ascendent, RE, etc. Not quite as versatile but superior in its setting. Can be used in a ported enclosure but not for its best work. At 3 times peak rating verses rms you'll be hard pressed to ever blow these.

Summary: Outstanding Alpine Quality. These subs do the job plus! You will love them and the price is right on! I would buy again and would recommend to any friends who are in the market. You won't be disappointed... and yes, they are loud - with great quality!

Strengths: The lows but the highs are there too. Tweeters make a nice addition too :)
Weaknesses: havent found any, other than doing its job and rattleing everything in the car
Summary: I recently purchased an Alpine Type x with a ported box and i couldnt ask for more. This sub alone is more than enough bass than i would ever need. Heres the kicker, i am running the sube with only a 400 watt kicker amp!!! i will get th jl 1000/1 amp for it when i got the money but its hard to belive that the sub can have 3 times more power RMS!!!!! Only problem i came about is its extremely powerfull and im going to have to buy a dynamat trunk kit for it but its a small price to pay for no more trunk rattleing! i cant keep my rearview mirror where i want it with this sub! SIMPLY AMAZING!!!
