Strengths: Lancing device is a nice bonus. Looks and feels nicer than Ascensia meters
Weaknesses: Doesn't include sample test strips in box
Summary: The Accu-Chek Aviva is a tiny bit bigger than some other glucose meters, but the bigger size accomodates a bigger screen. The glucose reading is shown in large, easily readable digits. The rebate advertised on the box did come, (about a month late, but it came), so that's a plus. The kit includes the Accu-Chek Multiclix lancing device which is a nice bonus. The lancing device uses a drum of 6 preloaded lancets, so you don't have to handle individual lancets. It also has a choice of 11 customizable depth settings for different skin types! The meter itself is a nice ergonomic shape that fits easily into the palm of your hand. I do like the look and feel of this meter better than Ascensia meters. The kit does not come with sample test strips.
