Strengths: Superb optics - crystal clear optics with no vignetting.
Weaknesses: Lens caps could be better.
Summary: I've been using this adapter on a KM A200 creating 360° cylindrical panoramas where a larger field-of-view is desirable. The 0.8x lens factor give the A200 a HFOV of nearly> 70° and the resolution and clarity are superb from corner to corner with absolutely no vignetting. This is a great addition to the KM A200's already great GT lens.

It would have been nice if KM had included filter threads for the front lens. They probably weren't included because at 86mm, any filter would be thick enough to cause vignetting.

The only disappointment (and it's a minor one) are the plastic lens caps. While they do an adequate job protecting the lens, they seem a bit "economical" and flimsy.

A nice carry case with drawstring is included.

Strengths: For the money, excellent. Good way of extending the use patterns for Dimage 7Hi, A1, and A2
Weaknesses: Cheap lens caps, no zooming possible, vignetting prevents use of front filter
Summary: 2004-06-19 19:52:21 The optical quality is excellent for that sort of a product, costing barely more than a high-end filter of a diameter similar to the front lens of this thing.

It maintains a reasonable level of aperture.

The lens caps in back and front are cheesy, though: just soft-plastic slip-on covers that will wear out in no time, not spring loaded plastic or metal-screw type covers. This is a real pity!

Unfortunately vignetting prevents the use of front mounted filters.

No zooming possible

A nice touch is that the Minolta Dimage 7Hi and A1 are also upgradeable to this lens and their users are not just abandonned!

Strengths: Exacly matches with camera specs. Ergonomicaly fit and atractive. Reasonably priced
Weaknesses: Not known yet
Summary: Qulity of pictures are exelent and coverage area is optimal.

Makes the camera very useful and practical.

Tried several other lenses from other manufacturers claiming that lens is made to work with A2 but did not stand performed practical tests.
