Strengths: Wrist pain gone! Hand is in truly neutral position. Takes stress off wrist. Requires moving entire arm instead of wrist.
Weaknesses: Takes a while to get used to. Not as precise as ordinary design. Wire is vulnerable to fatigue. No wireless version.
Summary: I have suffered from wrist pain due to computer use. I have tried mouse pads with gel wrist supports, the smart glove, wrist braces and ergonomic keyboards. Some of these help (especially the natural keyboards. However, this ergonomic mouse is, in my mind, fantastic. It has virtually eliminated my wrist problems. It puts your wrist in a neutral position like a joystick. One thing that is confusing from the picture is that, while it looks like a joystick, you move the mouse pointer by sliding the whole device on the desktop. Because of the way you grip it, you must move the mouse with your arm rather than your wrist. While this takes some getting used to, and makes precision movements more difficult, it also totally prevents repetitive motion problems. Also, the mouse button is operated by your thumb and this has eliminated finger pain due to clicking with my index finger. The only things I don't like are that the mouse itself is a little cheap feeling, the place where the cord enters is vulnerable to bending, it is a little unweildy for traveling, and it isn't available in a cordless design. I have two and am about to order two more. Definitely worth it if you have wrist problems.
