Strengths: Vibrant and bright colors, easy to navigate menus, excellent DVD playback quality. I originally purchased the Samsung 5053 and wasn't happy with it's performance.
Weaknesses: I don't like the way the HDMI inputs are locate on the back of the unit. I guess if I was mounting the unit it would be good, but I'm ont.
Summary: 2006-12-18 10:53:13 I originally went with the Samsung to save a few bucks thinking it would suit my needs. I wasn't happy with it but I am very pleased with the Pioneer! There is a easily noticeable difference in picture quality between the Samsung and Pioneer.

Strengths: Very easy to set-up for the beginner. Owner's manual very detailed.
Weaknesses: Probably no way around this one, but it's so heavy.
Summary: After much research and going to various stores to view the product. This t.v. had the best picture. And thanks to pricegrabber for having good specs on the comparisons.

Strengths: Very easy to set up. This Plasma has a very rich vibrant black color which makes the other colors look rich and vibrant. The Pioneer PDP-5071HD 50' Plasma has an excellent picture.
Weaknesses: A little high priced, but well worth it..
Summary: I researched plasma televisions and the Pioneer PDP-5071 50' Plasma stood out from all the rest. I ended up picking the pioneer over the Sony XBR 42' LCD because the pioneer was a 50' compared to the Sony's 42' and the Pioneer was a plasma which I could hang on the wall and the Sony was an LCD which I could not hang on the wall. The Pioneer was by far the better choice. I would recommend this Plasma to anyone.
