Strengths: Good and clear reception both as handset and speaker phone, love the ringer tone selection (up to 7 types), and quite light weight.
Weaknesses: No date and time on the display window, only time stamp on messages.
Summary: 2004-08-24 15:51:42 I would highly recommend this cordless phone to others based on my one week experience using this phone. The reception was extremely clear even when I was jogging around the block (around one mile from my house). Another feature I also loved was the light at the top of the antenna (every time you received a call it'd light up so even if you couldn't hear the ring you'd still be able to know that there was an incoming call. Last but not least, the various ringer tones that one could choose from (or even download from other source). Simply said, this product is another PANASONIC must have....

Strengths: Form factor, Messaging Indication, Light-up Display, Speaker Phone
Weaknesses: Signal Range, False Missed call Indication, Ringer Selection
Summary: 2004-08-26 13:33:24 I bought this add-on handset to supplement my base system. Overall I'm pleased with both the sound and build quality of this product. As my weakness indicated, I was surprised that the range did not really improve compared to the 2.4 GHz phones. I'm transitioning away from 2.4 GHz phones because of my home network which shares the same frequencies. My other annoyance is the missed call indication. When you purchase this phone it will supplement the handset that came with your base system. When you pick-up a call with the first handset, the other handset(s) will register a missed a call. My last nit with the phone is the small selection of ring selection. Half of the available tones have now been replaced with musical songs. Panasonic offers a service to update your phone with musical ring tones (at a price), I would have preferred that the base phone come strictly with standard ringers and have to option to purchase musical tones from their site.

Strengths: Excellent Voice Quality, Ease of installation, Lots n Lots of feature.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: One of the best part of this piece is that, even though it is a cordless phone, but still feature of copying phone book from one handset to another.

Privacy, which make one conversation private and none other can listen...

Voice Enhancer do make a difference

All these feature make this handset a best buy for its price.

Thanks

Strengths: Great quality & clarity / Handset speakerphone / Adequates volume / Long-lasting batteries / One-button VoiceMail access / CallerIQ (Weather, sports, lotto, etc.) / Multiple handset capability
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: This is a great phone that has great features. There is usually a great mail-in rebate offer too.

This handheld phone has seven different ringers, and can control all the base unit functions. It can also be used to monitor a room (like a baby monitor), one-button VoiceMail access, phone-to-phone conference (intercom), and many other things as well. If you have multiple handsets, you can use it as a pager for each handset, or even ALL handsets at the same time.

I have experienced excellent clarity several hundred feet away from the house, and that's even through a couple cement walls. This model comes equipped with NiMH batteries, which beat the heck out of Ni-Cd in both capacity and longevity. This is a huge plus, considering how much replacement batteries cost these days.

Good quality, good clarity, and the longest-lasting, best batteries earns this Panasonic phone a 5-star rating.

Strengths: Excellent sound quality.
Weaknesses: Slow dialing.
Summary: The Panasonic KX-TGA520M is an accessory handset for any of the Panasonic KX-TG52?? phone systems. The review of the handset is essentially a review of the the base system. My system is the KX-TGA5200. The sound quality is superb, even when I use the unit right next to my computer.

The telephone book database is easy to use and you can copy the database from one handset to another. I also like the fact you can easily access and delete answering maching messages from the handset.

Strengths: Reception, Quality, Phonebook capabilities, Overall Performance
Weaknesses: No time showm on handset when not in use and no caller id on base unit itself.
Summary: I have used this phone many times in the past 2 days and I love it. It has a room monitor feature which is great if you have a baby! Not all models have this so this is a great feature on this phone. I also love the fact that you can copy the phonebook from handset to handset. You do not have to type in the phone numbers on every handset which many other phones require you to do. There is no interference with our Wireless computer or our video baby monitor. This phone is great and is highly recommended to anyone!

Strengths: Voice clarity, ergonomics. Most features in main phone base available on handset
Weaknesses: Cheap feeling, plasticky base & uses wall transformer.
Summary: After buying the Panasonic KX-TG5240M handset and base unit about a month ago (See my review of it elsewhere on this site) I liked it so much that I decided to get another handset so I could have one in another floor of the house.

So I went to Office Depot and picked up the handset for $79.99 - coupon I had. After I had it home and let it charge for over 8 hours (not the 6 hours the instruction manual states) which is what it took to get fully charged. I then registered it with the KX-TG520M base unit which was very easy requiring on touching and holding down a one button.

Again, I find the handset to be comfortable to hold for long periods. The voice quality is excellent and the power consumption is good. Some of the more advanced features such as being able to access your voicemail from the handset are nice.

The only real dislikes I have for this handset is the combination charger/base it uses and the wall transformer & cord . The base feels very lightweight and "plasticky" and its easy to knock over with the phone if you arent careful. As for the wall transformer it kept falling out of the wall socket until I used duct tape to hold it in place.

It they had put the transformer in the base they could have solved both of the problems I had. The weight of the transformer would have prevented tipovers and a normsl cord wouldnt fall out of the socket.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with this handset and the phone its used with.

Strengths: Lots of bells and whistles. Small footprint. Talking caller ID.
Weaknesses: Worst range EVER of a portable phone. 900mz and 2.4gz work much better.
Summary: Works fine in the house, but when I leave the house even 25 feet, I have to go get another phone to take. My other phones work 200+ feet from home, this one 1-25 feet.

Strengths: Good sound quality
Weaknesses: Trouble dialing wireless numbers
Summary: Good sound quality, but unit has trouble dialing wireless numbers. Not sure if this a problem with the phone or my landline. Also, doesn't coordinate missed call info w/other hand set. Also, intermittently poor sound quality from the headset jack. Overall, a mixed bag.

Strengths: No Wireless Network Interference. I was getting some with my old phone. Flashing light (silent mode) on antenna. Intercom is nice to find the kids.
Weaknesses: Price of the accessory phones seems a little high compared to other manufacturers.
Summary: I did a lot of shopping around for a phone that would handle several needs in our house. The radio frequency not being on what wireless networks use was a necessary feature. Other things I really like is the fact that you can use the phone and it's baseset (I purchased the 5240 baseset with two extra handsets) as an intercom. This is handy if your kids are in the basement and you want to call them up for dinner. The antenna has a light that flashes if you put the phone in silent mode. This may seem like a weird idea but I really like it because you are not disturbed while watching a movie.

Strengths: Range, 5.8GHz won't interfer with 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g networks, Phonebook copy, 830 mAH NiMH batteries
Weaknesses: No date/time on large blank display, even though it keeps it current in the menu. Can't disable logging missed calls. CID erasing on one handset doesn't erase on all handsets. Talk/Off not backlight
Summary: 2005-07-11 22:03:11 Purchased a 3-pak with Speakerphone and Answering machine base, $226 with $50 rebate. Purchased 4th handset to max out system seperatley.

Won't be using the answering machine, will continue to use the voicemail from the phone company, however this phone doesn't give a visual voicemail notification indication (neither light nor display message).

Voice enhancer seems to work and perhaps makes calls clearer. I had a Motorola MD751 and liked all the features except the battery and the fact tech support couldn't help me get the handsets to *ring*. Returned them and saved some money and got a better phone with the Panasonic.

They are a bit big, but that antennae on the base/handset gives them better range/clarity.

Plastics could have used more texturing to reduce the "cheap" feeling. Rubberized grips would also be nice.

Large display should be able to customize the name of the handset, but they remain the default 1-4.

Large display should so current date/time, but is normally blank except for the annoying missed calls information.

Intercom from base can page all handsets, but an individual handset can only page a single handset at a time. This can be annoying when trying to intercom someone or transfer a call to them. Again, it only allows 1-4 to be listed on the page list, rather than descriptive names.

Copy phonebook feature is nice and something the Motorola didn't have.

Speakerphone is functional and nice for navigating voice driven menus as you can listed to the prompts while looking at the numbers.

Would have paid more money for Lithium-Ion batteries, but NiMH batteries are far superior to those $#@!*$# NiCAD batteries.

Expandable to only 4 handsets to a base transmittor.

Sounds like a lot of negatives --- but actually I am quite pleased with this phone. All the other features work as expected and I recommend this phone for price/value when compared to the competitors. Just wanted to point out the lacking, check the product for features, they all work as expected.

Strengths: Very clear sound, no static, excellent speaker.
Weaknesses: price a little bit high
Summary: I have bought a lot of different kind of phones and after just a few days and I got disappointed because it did not meet my expectations; however, this phone is really a top quality phone; great sound, clarity, awesome speakers and what I like the most is the intercom feature. I will recomend this phone to anyone. Price is high but it is worth every penny.
