 Overall I'm happy with this product even though it ... Strengths: Allows a person to make back-up copies of any VHS tape to DVD.
Weaknesses: Doesn't appear to significantly enhance image.
Summary: Overall I'm happy with this product even though it doesn't seem to enhance the video image going from VHS to DVD which was my primary reason for purchasing the unit. It does allow "back-up" copying of every VHS tape I've tried so far. As for backing up home movies it just may be that because I'm recording from an analog source that it simply can't make the image that much better. I have not tried using the device with a digital source. Based on the price I'd have to say the results are pretty much what I would have expected.

I found that using an S-video cable produced bette ...
Strengths: Removes copy protection effectively (so you can make a fair use copy of your VHS tapes).
Weaknesses: Quality of the output is a bit jittery.
Summary: I found that using an S-video cable produced better quality output than the standard composite cable that came with the item. It is a very small product, so it doesn't take up much space. I also liked the fact that it came with an AC adapter (you don't need batteries).

Strengths: Good Manual. Easy to hook-up. Composite cable included.
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I used it to back up an old VHS movie to my new stand-alone DVD recorded. Without connecting it, the status bar displayed "Protected". After connecting it, the status bar changed to "Ready". I was able to make the back-up without any problems. Now my kids will able to enjoy their old movies for a long time to come.

Strengths: Easy to use.
Weaknesses: Enhancement mode is indicated with a solid or blinking light making it difficult to determine mode if other than normal mode (solid light).
Summary: This unit is a wonderful buy for the money and provides copy protection removal for even the newest protection formats. This allows for you to back up all of your VHS and DVD archives on to DVD or VHS for "fair use" copies. This is especially good for making DVD copies for use in portable players when traveling. This way you won't damage or destroy your original DVD. Absolutely a five star buy!

Summary: well,sima compare to other copy master the CT2 COPY MASTER is so far the best product that i ever use to make copy from dvd to dvd or from vhs to dvd or dvd to vhs.

 Have tried everything, we don't know why this one ... Strengths: item was great while it worked, backed up old moves on camcorder and vhs, plus my sons dvd, boy is he hard on them.
Weaknesses: just out of the 90 day warranty and it just freaked out. Looks like its in poster paint colors only. Of course they wont take it back I have had it more than 90 days.
Summary: Have tried everything, we don't know why this one has done what it has done, I would like to replace it but I am not paying full price for another one. was worth it while it worked.

Strengths: This item works great! I had a few old tapes that were very dingy and colorless and this not only cleaned them up but cleared them up.
Weaknesses: NONE
Summary: What a deal! I am going to make a back up copy of my kids DVD's so I can put the originals back in the case of years to come!

Strengths: Works Great. We're transferring old VHS tapes to DVD. Picture quality is real good.
Weaknesses: Haven't found any yet.
Summary: We looked for a long time to find a way to copy older VHS tapes onto DVD media. Because. like a lot of folks, have the portable DVD player for the car. We were disappointed to find that video recorders had to comply with the macrovision copyright protection across the board. This device has really us money.

Strengths: Plug it in and leave it alone, always works.
Weaknesses: Very high price for a very simple device.
Summary: I am glad to have the SIMA CT2 Copy Master and would recommend it as a reliable device. I have not encountered any problems with a variety of sources.

Strengths: installation/setup is a snap - instruction is simplified, but outstandible.
Weaknesses: unable to eliminate major distortion on video tape.
Summary: The unit pretty much does what it claims. For instance, if you have old video that has diminished in contrast or is too dark, you have the option to either enhance or decrease the brightness. But as far as eliminating any major distortion such as streak lines, you are out of luck. Overall this is a simple device with simple functionality.

Strengths: Small portable size, well marked IN and OUT.
Weaknesses: No firewire IN or OUT for computer DVD recorder
Summary: Very easy to use. Copies well and I would recommend this to others to use and recommend the composite signal to use over the S Video IN and OUT. I would have liked the IN and OUT to include the Firewire to computer DVD copier and that would make it perfect.

Strengths: INSTALLATION SIMPLE. CT-2 ALLOWED ME TO MAKE A COPY OF DVD THAT BEFORE INSTALLING DVD RECORDER WOULD NOT RECORD.
Weaknesses: FIRST TIME I INSTALLED USED VIDEO OUT AND S-VIDEO TO CT-2. THEN VIDEO IN AND S-VIDEO IN TO CT-2. COPY BETTER AFTER REMOVING S-VIDEO IN. NOT SURE WHY. COPY WAS EXCELLENT.
Summary: WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE CT-2 TO ANYONE LOOKING TO MAKE BACK UP COPIES OF THERE DVDS. BEFORE USING CT-2 MY RECORDER CLAIMED COPY PROTECTED AFTER INSTALLION HAD PERFECT COPIES. DVD COPIES ARE AS GOOD AS ORIGINALS.

Strengths: Very easy to use. Works great as advertised.
Weaknesses: Firewire would make even better.
Summary: Works great. Clears up old tapes to copy to DVD, and makes perfect DVD to DVD copies which I couldn't do before. This is the product to use to solve copying problems.

Strengths: Very easy to use
Weaknesses: No on-screen display makes it hard to see which video mode you are in.
Summary: Hook-up takes seconds and is very easy to use. This is one of the few products that does what it says. The only option I had trouble with was the "black-and-white" mode, though I don't see much use for this if it is used for video duplication.
