Strengths: Sensitivity, specificity, good looking
Weaknesses: Kind of heavy, short cord. Quite annoying even at the lowest volume setting ...
Summary: 2006-07-25 11:50:50 Very useful, good detection.

Need some time to get used to it and gain confidence ;)

Pay ~ 150$ more and get top of the line if you live in VA or DC (or plan to drive a lot there) - that one is undetectable by radar-detector detectors.

Edited later:

There are some spots on the highway where the radar warns you everytime. After a while you'll know then and ignore the warnings.Last Sunday I was the luckiest guy in the world driving at 75-80 in a 50 mph zone, when I approached one of that spots. The radar detector started its own routine but I kept driving.Right after the corner there was a policeman with a radar gun ... before the next exit there were other 2 who were FORTUNATELY busy with 2 other drivers ...

It was just luck but I learned my lesson and I hope this will be usefull for others too.

One more thing: POP is off by default, turn it on when you first use the unit!

Strengths: Manufactured by the most trusted name in radar detectors. Excellent range with minimal false alerts. Small size and excellent mounting hardware. Telephone cable power connection.
Weaknesses: None!
Summary: Dollar for dollar, this is by far the best detector available. The only thing missing from the top of the line is the Ku band detection which is obsolete in the US but still used in Europe. This is an excellent performing unit that has all of the features that you would ever need. Comes complete with BEL soft case. This is my second BEL Vector 965, purcahsed for another vehicle I own. You can't go wrong with this radar detector!

Strengths: Sensitivity,anti- falsing filering,POP alert
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: Having previously owned the then next to top of the line Beltronics model 890, I was impressed with the more advanced anti-falsing filtering and the POP alert features. The autoscan mode and Low-X, No-X are the nice addition to a previous 4* detector. I would highly recommend this unit!

Strengths: Great sensitivity when needed, "Dark" feature for display, build quality
Weaknesses: Mounting cups, loud alerts
Summary: 2006-03-15 15:57:20 This is my second radar detector and I must say is it many steps up from my last. These one filters out many more "false alarms" then the last one and has a higher build quality. The "Dark" feature i mentioned above is great for me because when I'm driving at night, I like to have minimal light inside the car. With the "dark" feature, it shuts off the display and shows a small "AD" in the bottom left corner, and still functions perfectly.

The main draw back to this product is the cheap mounting suction cups. They give more then I think they should, I'm currently trying to find others that will hold the weight a little better. I was able to mount it fine with the default cups, however its just a personal preference of mine.

A minor draw back is the loud alerts. Even on its softest setting, the alerts are louder then they should be. I'm thinking about covering the "speaker" with some kind of black foam, so it mutes the sound for me. Again, this is just a personal preference and some may find it unnecessary.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the product. The pros out weight the cons by far, so no worries there.

Strengths: bright/dim, loud, sensitive, type of power connector
Weaknesses: none
Summary: it can be very bright for a sunny day, and dim for the night. it is can also get pretty loud which i like because i usually have my radio pretty loud. also, the power connects like a data cord versus the regular male end like headphones would use thus the connection lasts a lot longer which is a common part to go bad quickly. i am very pleased and it has saved me many many times.

Strengths: Extremely effective dectection at a long range. Far better than any dector I've ever owed.
Weaknesses: Not really a weakness, but cost is more than I'm used to paying - but it was defintiely worth it!
Summary: I alsways bought cheapo dectors, like under $100. You definitley get what you pay for and this dector is far superior than those types of units. From now on I only buy decent quality stuff.
