2 Star ReviewLike laptop batteries, this only lasts after a finite number of uses.
Strengths: Fits in my Toshiba laptop.
Weaknesses: Product only lasted 2 years.
Summary: We got the laptop at a local retailer in Santa Clara, CA. We have had the computer for 4 years now, but this drive quit about 2 years into the deal. Now, after a hard drive crash, we need a bootable drive we can use to install a new OS. The drive can boot, but it will not read certain areas on the installation CD, so the setup program quits halfway.

Makes you wonder how we lasted this long w/o a CD-ROM drive, eh? We had an external USB drive that we have been using, but the USB port is 1.1 spec, so we could only read/write at about 800kb/s.

If I had a choice, I wouldn't buy another Toshiba drive to replace it. But the computer still has some life in it yet, so we chose to go the cheap route and find a refurbished model.
