Strengths: Fast searching, great sound, onboard memory so no freezing
Weaknesses: A little heavy, belt clip not multi-purpose like I'd hoped, software
Summary: My only complaints about this MP3 player are very small. I only use this player when I'm running and I had hoped that I would be able to clip it to the inside of my pocket. It is possible but hard to do so. I previously owned a Sandisk MP3 Companion, which was ideal for running because it had a very convenient belt clip/cradle that could be placed on the waist of my running shorts. This player does not have that ability. It's a bit heavy but not too bad. I cannot feel it while I'm running so the weight does not bother me. I'm not a big fan of the software and I could not get Windows Media Player to sync to the devices, but fortunately you can just drag and drop songs and folders to the device through Explorer.
In contrast with the Sandisk MP3 Companion, it is very fast when skipping through songs. Startup is fast also. The folder navigation is very practical and easy to use. Radio sounds great. Volume is above average. Sound quality is amazing with the right headphones (Sennheiser HD555's are good). The lock feature is very convenient. It has a couple screen savers to choose from or you can keep the scrolling song title on. It has power saving options to let the screen go black after a specified amount of time. Also has an auto-shutoff (doesn't have to be enabled). Another plus is that the battery compartment is well designed and sturdy.
Battery life with a Monster 2400mah AA rechargeable battery with the screen blank (just playback) is 25 straight hours.
With the same battery and the song title scrolling the whole time, playback is about 10 straight hours.
Highly recommended! Great for the price
