Strengths: Bluetooth, one battery functionality, laser tech, 360-degree scrolling, ergonomics, design
Weaknesses: Side button hard to press
Summary: Just started using this mouse, so this is an initial review. Biggest issue - the right-click functionality is slightly different compared to conventional mice. The set up on the mighty mouse (MM) is a love-it or hate-it situation. Either you are going to be comfortable with it right away, or you will never get used to it. So I would recommend visiting your local Apple store and trying out the mouse yourself before purchasing. I got used to it right away, so I like the MM. The scroll ball is also a nice feature - allowing simultaneous up/down and left/right browsing. It also functions as a third button, and I have set it up for Expose and it works quit nicely. The side button is harder to use - mainly because you have to really press down on it to activate it. i have the side buttons set up for activating dash board, since I do not access it as much compared to expose. This is one of the few bluetooth mice that also has laser functionality. I think the Microsoft 8000 notebook mouse is the only other one currently on the market with laser and bluetooth. But Microsoft mouse felt like it had cheap pastics. Not so with the MM - quality plastics that feel smooth to the touch. The mouse feels like it has been put together well and has a very solid feel to it. Another nice feature is that the mouse can run on just one battery, though you can use two for longer life. Speaking of batteries, MM comes with high-quality energizer lithium AA batteries in the box. You can also use regular alkaline and even rechargeable batteries - again in one or two configurations. Flexibility and choice is a good thing. Too early to comment on battery life. But so far, this is a very nice mouse. Side button is a little hard to use, and the two-button feature is either a like-it or hate-it thing, so try before you buy.

Strengths: Bluetooth, Appearance, Multi-functional
Weaknesses: Lacks Mouse Side Buttons (Back/Forward)
Summary: The mighty mouse is Apple's solution to the much maligned 1 button that Apple stuck with since the first Mac. The selection of Bluetooth mice with small which leads me to believe that this type of interface is falling by the way side. Functionally the mouse works very well. Setup was very easy; it was immediately recognized by my iMac. The mouse tracks well and people still remark about the design when they see it for the first time. The scroll ball works well and provides early multi-direction scrolling.

Strengths: Looks beautiful! Excellent design!
Weaknesses: Perhaps too sensitive
Summary: While the mouse is designed beautifully, it sometimes feels a bit too sensitive even after making several adjustments. The bluetooth connection works great. Overall, I have had no great problems with this product and recommend it without reservations.

Wireless Mighty Mouse Ain't Mighty Friendly
Strengths: It is wireless
Weaknesses: "Two Button" Charm is nonexistent
Summary: I'm reintroducing myself to the Mac platform after a 21-year hiatus. Since then, I admit I've been corrupted by the demon Windows, and some would insist that this changeover requires a detoxification process akin to a 12-step program.
Be that as it may:
I can't make this amazing wireless thing cooperate like a two-button device and it's a bit annoying. For all the crap Windows slathers a harddrive with, that was its one saving grace, the two-button mouse, and one thing I'd change about my Mac.

Strengths: Wireless - duh!
Lightweight (but not too light)
Scrollball is awesome
Laser sensor can be covered
Operates on only one battery
Touch sensitive buttons work surprisingly well
Weaknesses: Pressure sensitive side buttons are a bit difficult to handle
Doesn't work with Windows (outside of Boot Camp on your Mac) - Windows just doesn't see it as a Bluetooth device for some reason
Summary: Just bought a new Mighty Mouse (Bluetooth) to complement the new MacBook Pro that just arrived. I wanted a mouse that provided more buttons than the standard 1 from Apple and I definitely like the wireless approach with a laptop.
The scrollball takes a little bit of getting used to, but I think I'm going to like it a lot. Not that wheel mice were that cumbersome to scroll sideways (with the shift key held down), but I think the ball is in a class of its own as far as that goes...very intuitive. I'm pretty happy with the weight of the mouse - I don't like those really lightweight wireless mice that people often get for their laptops. The mouse configuration is nice - pretty basic, but handy enough to do anything I would want to do with four buttons. Yeah, there are actually four "buttons" on this mouse. I didn't know exactly what to expect with touch buttons, but I am pleasantly surprised with these. The touch-sensitivity is only used to determine which button I'm pressing not to actually detect the click action. The mouse actually clicks just like the old one-button Apple mice, and then the click is registered as a right-click, left-click, or middle (ball) click based on where the finger is touching the mouse hardest. The default behavior out of the box is to treat a left or right click as a primary click. This is probably a good idea with so many mac users used to a single button mouse (and many of them not even aware that Mac OS X provides a right-click menu).
I really don't have much to complain about on this mouse. If there were anything, I'd have to say the side buttons are a bit difficult to click (they don't register clicks like the other three buttons, but rather with pressure sensitivity - and low sensitivity at that).
I wish Apple would make a Windows driver for this mouse so that I could used it on my laptop at work and show it off to my friends. I tried to pair the mouse with my laptop in Windows, but no go - Windows doesn't seem to recognize it.
All in all, this is a great wireless mouse (much better than the old RF mouse I had from Microsoft. I think I'll be using this one for a while.

Strengths: Easy to use, multi-functions, wireless
Weaknesses: None that I can find, although Wintel 2-button mouse users may balk
Summary: A longtime Mac user, I am exceedingly comfortable with their 1-click mice. Well, they've added another click and gone Bluetooth wireless with this edition! You will have all the features that you need in a mouse, coupled with portability, dependability and the Apple brand. If your computer is Bluetooth-equipped, then I see no reason NOT to buy this mouse!

Strengths: VERY responsive scroll wheel. LOVE the horizontal scrolling.
Weaknesses: It is a little slow to wake AND be recognized from being turned on with the switch...but it does fine when just waking up from non use.
Summary: Just needs ONE more button! I don't know where....but it needs one more. When I first saw the mouse I knew it was THE mouse for my laptop. I love how it works on my arm chair. VERY smart of Apple to allow just one AA...I use a lithium and it works great. I have MANY remote mouses (three on my desk right now for three computers...two PC and one Mac)...and I just LOVE the Apple MM the best.

Strengths: Blue-tooth, 360-degree scrolling, easy to use, multi-functions
Weaknesses: None
Summary: This is a very nice mouse for use with apple white Macbook (color match). It does not need an additional USB port because Macbook has blue-tooth built-in. The setup is easy. 360-degree scrolling made the mouse easy to use for all applications.

Strengths: scroll BALL, clean look with hidden buttons, battery life!
Weaknesses: at first it takes time to get used to right and left clicking being it sensory to which side you click.
Summary: Love this mouse! I almost bought the wired one and the day I went to order it on Apple and saw that the bluetooth one had been released! I couldn't be happier with this mouse. I really like the curves and rubber feel, etc. of the Logitech mouses but hey, apple likes simplicity so you can't expect it to be like others

Strengths: Practically paired itself, Software is very customizable to change button layout/function, Battery life indicator
Weaknesses: Scrollball might be too small for some people
Summary: I just picked up this mouse last night and was very impressed. As soon as I put in the batteries and told my laptop I wanted to add a bluetooth mouse it found it instantly and even named it for me. It was the smoothest pairing of a BT device I've ever done...and I've have several BT mice.
The software that comes with the mouse gives you great controls like redefining the button functions and configuring the right side of the mouse as a secondary buton. Not sure why, but mine was set as having 2 Primary buttons. At first it made me think there was no secondary (right) mouse button support, but after making the change, it works just fine. I love the battery life remaining screen too!
The only issue I am concerned with is the small trackball on the top of the mouse. I've read that after awhile it gets dirty and doesn't track well. Hopefully that's not too common. I've read though there are steps to cleaning it if that happens so I'm not too worried if it does surface.
All in all, I'd recommend this mouse to any mac user. I don't know if I'd have the same pleasant expirience trying to load this mouse on XP.

Pricey but excellent pointing device
Strengths: Easy installation, works in Mac OS and in Boot Camp (Windows), excellent scrolling
Weaknesses: Sometimes problems differentiating between right and left clicks. Scroll ball goes bad after time.
Summary: 2007-12-04 21:52:59 UPDATE: I've been through three of these mice, the scroll ball stops working in one of the directions after about 6 months of daily use. I can no longer wholeheartedly recommend this device as this has happened to me on THREE of these.

This is really an outstanding mouse for Macs with built-in bluetooth if you have the money to spend. Installation is a cinch: insert CD, install software, insert batteries, turn on mouse via intuitive switch over laser sensor, turn on bluetooth on computer, and voila, you have a fully functional mouse.
I like mice without too many buttons -- like some of the Logitech mice in this price range. I go for simplicity, and this mouse serves that purpose. The scroll ball works great. I don't find myself using the squeeze buttons on the side to take advantage of Exposé (or any other feature, the mouse is fully customizable) very often though.
Although it did take some power cycling of the mouse and some tinkering with Windows, I also had success pairing the mouse with Windows XP (although the scroll function is unidirectional-up/down only).
You will have to learn how to place your fingers on the mouse as the left/right click is sensitive to where you have your digits on the mouse. I've learned pretty quickly, but it did take some getting used to it first. You might want to try out the mouse at an Apple Store to make sure it really is the mouse for you.
