Strengths: The clarity of the sound is amazing! The rediscovery of sounds never heard in my music has been a great surprise!
Weaknesses: Wondering how much better the other pricier Grados will be and having to consider upgrading my audio system to maximize the wonderful sound of these headphones.
Summary: Alas...bad recordings will be noted immediately! But a great recording will take you to a higher plane of musical enjoyment. I took my pair to Sound Advice...their $10,000 Krell/Focal setup was the only system comparable to the clarity found in my Grados connected to their own Cambridge audio setup....needless to say their personnel were surprised! I did not expect to have these babies sound so good far less exceeding the sound of audiophile systems. Needless to say I bought the Grado amp to maximize their sound..for less than $600.00 I am up to par with systems costing thousands more! Tough for Sound Advice..great for us consumers!

Needless to say I these headphones will rock on high quality MP3s in you IPOD...but the can do soo much more!

Strengths: Superb capture/replication of the music source. Be forewarned: you may have to upgrade your system or music media once you hear the true quality output! Best $$ ever spent on headphones.
Weaknesses: You may need to make adjustments to the Band to find the right pressure on your ears (noticeable after first 30 minutes of wearing). But once adjusted correctly, it's smooth sailing from then on!
Summary: I love my Grado Cans! I listen mainly to great classic rock, jazz, R&B, Blues, and some other genres and enjoys these headphones tremendously. I also use them when I go to battle (virtual - Call of Duty on the PC). I purchased a Grado Labs extension cord (thick cord) that gives me the semi-freedom to move about (exercise or emulate being on stage). I purchased these back in 1995 and have been going strong until this year, the left Can started fazing out. I called Grado Labs and "no problem" we can replace the can for $40. Great Value!

Strengths: Great Sound. Lightweight. Grado reputation.
Weaknesses: Could use longer cord.
Summary: I purchased this set of headphones from Midwest Stereo out of Chicago for about $145 which included shipping. It is the first set of Grado I've owned and probably won't be the last. I find them very comfortable to wear and very nice to listen to. Clear highs and excellent midrange tones are very much acknowledged. The only negative thing I thought about them was they could use a bit longer cord. All in all, I appreciate them more every time I listen with them. Highly recommended.
