Strengths: handset speaker phone, intercom, earphone plug, ringtones tied to phone book entries
Weaknesses: occasionally connection goes bad. cannot use speakerphone for intercom
Summary: I bought DCT648-3 from Costco, the same model here plus two more handsets. Don't confuse this with DCT6485, which has keypads on the base. For this model you can answer calls at the base but not make calls because it doesn't have a keypad, although I don't think I would really need to do that.
This inexpensive phone system is expandable to 4 handsets. I really enjoyed the speakerphones on the handsets -- now I can move around and do things while on hold for long time. Or just to have a long conversation while I am typing this review. Another nice feature is to listen or delete messages from handsets, so you don't have to go downstairs to the base. It comes with all the features one can think of. There is not much more to be asked of it.
