Strengths: Small size/multifunctional. Light weight. Large LCD screen. Excellent MP3 quality.
Weaknesses: Usually poor picture quality. Must use Jukebox to load/delete MP3 files. Inclosed memory card is too small. Must use the deck to recharge battery.
Summary: I really like this cute thing - it combines almost everything I need for entertainment in daily life - picture, video, audio and voice recording. I only wish it could take better quality photos, so that I don't have to carry my camera for most purpose - my Nokia 3650 camera phone perhaps takes better pictures. But still, despite of all the cons I have mentioned above, it's a nice gadget to have, with reasonable price.

Strengths: Compact, multi-functions - camera, video camera, mp3 player, voice recorder, multi-media player.
Weaknesses: Quality of the pictures and video are not that great. No optical zoom for pictures and no zoom for camcorder.
Summary: Good price for the deal - $150 after rebate. Can record over 1 hr mp4 video on a 512 SD. Multi-function devices - 2M digital camera, mp4 camcorder, multi-media players, voice recorder. Compact size good for travel. Battery life is not bad too.

3 Star ReviewSo then there are of course a few downsides to it ...
Strengths: small and compact very slick..people do ask u whats that thing.Cool design, easy to use. Small, smaller than most mobile phones. Good flash, even sometimes it is to good, and can flash away your picture, meaning close-up photos may become to bright. But I
Weaknesses: very low MP pic
Summary: So then there are of course a few downsides to it too! 1. Inside filming is a bit tricky. You either need very good lighting in-doors to get a good video, or you need to turn on the night view option, which then slows down the FPS (frames per second) which really means that the video slows down, and you really have to hold it still to make a good video. Not a good option I think. So that really sucks, because it means you really have to have some good light indoors. Outside is ok. Not the best video quality there either, but it is more than acceptable and the sound is good.

Strengths: The video camera is small, compact and light. You can record audio, video, load mp3s, and take pictures all on camera!
Weaknesses: The audio playback afer recording was very low. The video and picture quality isn't great but fine.
Summary: I would recommend buying this video camera since you get alot for the price. Plus, there is a $100 rebate for this item. It is a great buy for the price.

3 Star ReviewThe main thing to say about the d-snap is the size ...
Strengths: SIZE, SIZE, SIZE
Weaknesses: Camcorder and camera video quality
Summary: The main thing to say about the d-snap is the size. Its even smaller than the pic, its unbelievable and extremely light also. As a camcorder I was really disspointed because even at the highest setting u really need excellent bright light to get a good video. As a camcorder it is just as powerful as a normal 2 megapixel camera and the flash works good but don't expect to make pics bigger than a 4x6. As and mp3 and voice recorder it works great. Overall it is a good product to have extra, but not something to completely depend on.

Strengths: Multi-zoom option, bigger lens, swival display, night mode, better picture resolution (2 Mega pixels), better frame rate option (30FPS XF mode)
Weaknesses: Low lighting may result in flickering video, Night mode is motion sensative.
Summary: The SV-AV50 is a good successor to last year model of the SV-AV 30. Improvements are everywhere but there were a few compromises too. The LCD display (117,000 pixels) has a lower pixel resolution than the SV-AV30 (200,000 pixels). This was probably done to improve battery performance. The standard lumination level requirement is higher on the SV-AV50 (3000 LUX verses the SV-AV30 1400 LUX). What this means is that in low lighting the SV-AV50 is slightly dimmer with flickering video. The positives however (with good lighting) are that video is clearer, better color balance and the zoom capability is more useful. Nightmode helps in relieving low light condition but is sensitive to motion (The SV-AV30 does not have this option). Also, you can no longer fastforward or rewind the video unless you have the remote control attached. The new design has a swival display which works well when viewing the LCD from above your head or below, which is useful when recording in crowds. The USB port is now located on the docking module with the AC port and AV port. Overall the improvement outweight the compromises.

Strengths: small size, easy to use, very affordable
Weaknesses: None found yet
Summary: We found the D-Snap while looking for a "pocket-size" camcorder. The availability of using secure digital media allows for an unlimited storage of video, pictures, and mp3 music. An extra bonus is that the D-Snap can be used to record lectures and notes in college.

Strengths: Ultra compact camcorder/digital camera. Multi functional. Combines camcorder, still camera, voice recorder and mp3 player into one. Extremely light.
Weaknesses: Because its too light the picture shakes while recording. Still photographs will shake without the remote. poor video quality under low conditions. Comes with only 8MB SD card.
Summary: Lot of features for this tiny camera. Most of the functions are driven by software using menu commands. Even the Player buttons are attached to a remote control which can be dettached.

The zoom in/out lever is very sensitive. It can easily come off. Comes with all the necessary accessories. Can be connected to a PC or a TV easily.

Strengths: Compact and convenient.
Weaknesses: Too small for really big hands; not highest quality of recordings and pictures.
Summary: It's compact style makes it convenient to take anywhere. It takes still photos as well as being a camcorder. Great for anyone who likes to be ready to make a video or take a picture at any time.

It is so compact that if you are not careful, your finger may get in the way. It seems to work best if the person recording does not move. Videos are not perfect quality, but satisfactory - a little better than those on a cell phone.

Summary: 2004-12-06 12:45:41 Gadget and media fans who want a cool, ultracompact device.

Stylishly small and loaded with multimedia functions, the D-snap SV-AV50 has too few settings for its functions and captures mostly below-average photos.

Strengths: slim, multifunctional, graceful design, easy to use
Weaknesses: pictures not sharp, audio effect not good either
Summary: The biggest advantage of this model is its multifunctional ability. You can tape a video, take pictures as well as listen to music with it. However, because of its verstile functions, the quality of those functions is thus not as good as thoses with single function. You can't expect it to play mp3 as good as ipod.

If you are looking for something multifunctional and don't expect too much on the quality of each function. Dsnap is a good choice. It is slim and chic ,perfect gift for gf and wife:)

Strengths: It looks really cool! and it does quite a few things.
Weaknesses: You don't want this to be your primary digital camera.
Summary: 2005-01-20 19:55:36 Let's put it this way, this little geeky thing does what the manufacturer tell you that it could. I took picture, shoot video, listened mp3 and recorded voice with it. However, like almost every other all-in-one devices, it won't give you top performance in every aspect. For starters, an optical zoom would be much appreciated. The picture quality isn't that satisfactory either, it's supposed to be a 2 mega pixel camera, truth is, all the 2M canon, sony, olympus, nikon and casio digicam i used in the past have a better picture quality. Third, you need a really big secure digital memory card if you want to use it fully. My 512M card just doesn't seem spacious enough after I tried every function of it.

Since i've only paid $150 for mine and got an $100 rebate for it, I am happy with an extra geeky toy. And it's really really compact, gotta give it credit for that. But would i buy it for the MSRP? most probably not.

Strengths: this product is Durable and multifunctional. I love that it plays music and you can watch tv on it too. Very good for storing in your purse and very stylish too.
Weaknesses: My only complaint with this product is that it does not come with more memory. You need to purchase more memory separately. Otherwise I don't have any other complaints.
Summary: I love this product. I also have the sd ewear mp3 player and I just love it. The size and stylishness of this makes it a big plus. All it needs is additional memory.
