    Product Experience:
    10 Days
Strengths: Solid metal case, 6 AA batteries for RX, 2 AA for Mic. XLR out, Headphone monitor , Mic/Line out levels, ext 12v input, dozens of selectable UHF frequencies
Weaknesses: Line level out is too low to be really line level.
Summary: There are many pluses for this system. First , the receiver:

1. It is powered by 6 AA (not the little AAA or a stupid little 9v) batteries.

2. It has a Mic/Line level switch. Switching to line , however, only ups the output level about 3 to 4 db. When connecting to my JVC DV500, there was no audiable sound when the 500HT was set to LINE and my camera set to LINE. When setting my camera to MIC level the sound was audiable and not even over driven when the 500HT was set to LINE and the camera still set to MIC

3. It has a connector for a 4 pin XLR power supply (12v)

4. The sound is very clear with no pops or static when moving around. I was able to get good sound with the receiver in my house and I walked 2 doors down the street (my daughter listening through the headset) and me talking into the mic. When I got out of range , the sound just went silent until I came back into range. My conclusion is that as long as you have mic and receiver in an auditorium , church, or anywhere in the same area, you will be OK

5. There is a 7 position group frequency switch and a 9 position channel frequency switch. (which gives you 7 X 9 different frequencies, 794.5 MHZ to 805.25 MHZ)

6. MOST OF ALL, it is a DUAL DIVERSITY RECEIVER. Thats 2 seperate recievers, when there is static or poor reception on one reciever, it switches to the other (indicated by 2 green leds).

7. The level of the headphone output is V E R Y high. I had to turn it allmost all the way down to keep from blowing out my ear drums. I would not be surprised if it could drive a speaker.

The Mic:

1. It uses 2 AA batteries.

2. There is an antenna that screws onto the end of the mic.

3. The mic body is METAL!!!, not plastic.

4. When I connected the system to a mixer where I had the output of a portable radio on one input and the mic pointed to the radio speaker, and the wireless system output connected to a different input on the mixer, the sound quality was allmost identical between the sound from the mic vs the sound from the radio's line out. usually , the sound quality of a mic pointed to a speaker is way lower than if you are connected to a line output. The quality of the mic and its ablility to pick up sound is very good.

I got the system from Video Direct for less than $500 (MSRP is $740.00)
